whose in so far? I suspect some people have leveraged PT for a quick response?

Looking at LSN and a graph that I just posted and am too lazy to post again (search my previous posts if you care) priority track gives a very good chance of both acceptance and $. Out of all the people who got priority track on LSN last year only 1 out of over 100 applicants was flat out rejected, with the acceptance rate being 70% or more.jpk5372 wrote:Anyone know if this increases chances of acceptance? Or is it like waivers, just trying to get application numbers up?
Thanks! Maybe if I put more effort into my application then I did on researching those stats maybe I can avoid being the unfortunate rejection =pLooking at LSN and a graph that I just posted and am too lazy to post again (search my previous posts if you care) priority track gives a very good chance of both acceptance and $. Congrats! Is it one of your top choices?vertex wrote:Just found out I was admitted on the PT. They said that the official offer of admission and the scholarship stuff will come later.
Congrats! How long did it take to hear back?vertex wrote:Just found out I was admitted on the PT. They said that the official offer of admission and the scholarship stuff will come later.
Vertex went "under review" on 9/8, so 2 days.artichoke88 wrote:Congrats! How long did it take to hear back?vertex wrote:Just found out I was admitted on the PT. They said that the official offer of admission and the scholarship stuff will come later.
I think it depends on what kind of financial aid I can get, but it's definitely a top choice for me and a school I would be excited to attend.St.Remy wrote:Congrats! I submitted and got an "Application Received" email from Duke on 9/4, the status checker started saying "under review" on 9/8. And then I found out today. Pretty quick turnaround!Congrats! How long did it take to hear back?
Wow I'm surprised, those numbers are great. Doesn't look good for me then. I did write the why duke though... I hope to find out tomorrow.cholza00 wrote:I just got an email with my updated "decision status"... which turned out not to be a decision at all...
I've been placed on the "Priority Reserve" List
I'm a little mad, I'm a 3.71/172 with a master's. I'm kinda taking it as a soft rejection, although it says "I will remain under review throughout the admissions process." So I guess I've kind of been put on hold until they see the rest of the regular decision and PT applicants. I didn't write the "Why Duke?" so maybe that ended up hurting me...
Yeah, I got this as well, and I didn't write one either. Probably should have thought that through a little better.cholza00 wrote:I just got an email with my updated "decision status"... which turned out not to be a decision at all...

This is a very good idea. I'm sure they want to accept folks who won't hurt their yield. If you really love Duke, you might call them and let them know you will accept an offer if admitted, or at least send in a strong 'Why Duke' in response.saito816 wrote:]

Edit: I looked through some old threads regarding priority reserve. It seems like this happened a lot to people who didn't write a "why duke" last cycle. Perhaps they didn't feel that I showed enough interest in attending Duke. The email says that I can submit additional information, so maybe I'll try writing a why Duke and attaching it as a reply to the email. I don't know, I'm feeling kind of disheartened.
