USC$$$ vs GTown Part-time

I really dont know what to do

I have a 60k scholarship to USC..i think living in Cali would be awesome..I am in a very healthy relationship with my gf and she is going to be in LA next year...I had basically convinced myself that USC is the way to go for obvious reasons

Now I just got into Gtown part-time..do I just become a rankings whore and take it because its 4 spots higher? I intend on switching to full-time and I am aware that I would have to take classes over the summer to do this..does any1 know how limited you are regarding getting a summer job after 1L if you have to take classes for the first part of the summer?

I know the rule that you take USC for cali and you take Gtown for east coast...my family is on the east coast I am definitely a NYC guy...i just dont know what to do!

The real question is...can any1 on this board justify USC full-time over Gtown part-time..the only thing I could think of is that USC is better because part-time will limit you 1L summer...Any thoughts greatly appreciated..Thanks!

Of course you can. The rankings difference is not large, major $avings, nearer to someone who makes you happy, and you won't miss out on the full extent of the 1L experience. You'll know your classmates at USC, compared to transferring into the full-time program at GULC where you'll have missed all their 1L bonding.

Do what makes you happy, but don't make the move just because of 4 USNWR spots.

In answer to your question, yes. Lower cost & you will earn your law degree in a shorter period of time.

Do you or any1 else have any take on summer 1L jobs for only the second half of summer? I feel like most employers would not want to even look at me with those kinds of limitations

I personally would take g-town even though i did undergrad at usc....usc will only get you a job in the LAish area whereas g-town possesses significant more prestige and much more national mobility

Congrats on having some great options. May I ask if you got into the PT program today/in the past week off the waitlist? :) In answer to your question, you can't go wrong either way. I probably shouldn't give advice, b/c I'm trying to get off the PT waitlist and of course would love for you to choose USC :D Best of luck either way!

Whats your take on 1L job opportunities if you have to take classes at the beginning? Assuming you wanted to transfer to full-time

Man, you can bang a pussy and go to law school for cheaper + its one of the best law schools in LA not to mention the world? A no brainer. GULC part time will rape you of your soul.

Seriously dude, go to USC. They network even better than UCLA in Los Angeles.

GO TO USC. EVEN WHEN THE INEVITABLE HAPPENS (GIRLFRIEND WILL CHEAT AND HURT YOU) YOU CAN AT LEAST BANG ONE OF THE COUNTLESS SUPER MODELS THAT ROAM LOS ANGELES. ESPECIALLY AT USC. TRUST ME, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

I gave up Cornell for USC with 20k/year. GTown isn't THAT much better to justify the cost+part time status. I, however, am dead set on working in California (Bay Area). Gtown will def place better on the east coast than USC, but not 60k a year better....
