I'm under the impression that UNC waitlists a lot of people, so I wanted to start a thread for all of us who have joined or are planning on joining the waitlist... Please post your stats and let's hope for the best! Thanks

numbers-wise, we're basically equivalent candidates. given our competition (i.e., 160+ LSAT), do you believe UNC admissions when they say, "there is some reasonable possibility of admission [for us] this year"? reminds me of a line from one of the greatest movies ever...

does anyone else think UNC admissions expects us to be as unreasonably optimistic as jim carrey? or am i just a downer?

Actually I turned down UNC for Undergrad and have to wonder if that had an impact.

There's always a chance.
You never know how their class will play out and what type of candidate they need/want. Hopefully we are what they want....

I was waitlisted last Monday AM, and received the packet on Friday. I live in AZ, so if you haven't received yours yet, I would call...

163, no GPA, OOS. Just withdrew and am deposited at Illinois. Good luck, everyone. I loved UNC at the beginning of the cycle but honestly am happy I won't be attending.

154 3.43 GPA Political Science East Carolina University. I am preparing to attend Campbell but if called off the waitlist, I will attend because, even though they have an outdated admissions style, it is a much more prestigious school and much more economical.

After I got my waitlist in March I emailed them with a couple questions. One was the stats for last year, the other one was the criteria for getting accepted off the waitlist. According to them, before going to the waitlist they assess their current class and see the porportions of male/ female, white/ minority, age, is/ oos, etc. So here's hoping they have a shortage of white female in staters
