Top Law Schools

I've been allocated to the wait list at all four of my preferred schools. Each letter has indicated an incredibly vague timeline (usually May-August) in terms of hearing back again. I'm wondering, is there still a good chance of being granted admission or should I focus on my safety schools where I've already been accepted to? Also, if I do hear back from the wait list schools, how long will they give me to make a decision?

If the pick you off of the waitlist, they are going to want a pretty quick decision. Pay the seat deposit at your chosen safety. Decide how you will respond if the schools you want grant admission. Write your LOCIs, submit any extra materials, and hope for the best.

Chances are low, but it happens. Some schools have larger waitlists than others. The length of time they give you to decide will depend on the school. Many T14 schools limit it to 24-48 hours.

Also, keep in mind that an August call-up is a very real possibility. Quite a few TLS posters had to make very difficult decisions last cycle. Having to break apartment leases, moving itineraries.... potential nightmare situations. Are any of the schools you're interested in SLAM DUNK MUST ATTEND? Not trying to scare you, but prepare you for anything.
