What should I do ?
Cycle has been a disaster. went complete in mid January. average softs. 170+172/3.5
cycle results : Rejected at HYS+Berkeley
Wait-list CCNMVP+Duke
In --> GULC
should I go to Gulc this year (sticker) if i fail to make it off any of the wait-lists that I'm on ? gpa is going to go up to 3.6 and I'm retaking the LSAT in June.
Thanks for the help !

Your acceptance in the schools you were wait-listed if you think you can do better in June, if your GPA will be higher by LSAC standards, if you can add more to your resume over the summer and how early you apply.
Also, can you wait another year? If so, it may be worth the wait if you can get a scholarship/admittance in one of the schools you were wait-listed. I think Georgetown is a good school, but you need some reason why you would go there versus waiting to get into your #1 school.
Also, you will have the advantage of applying early with your June score and maybe you can do more to add to your softs over the summer.
Good luck

Only on TLS is a cycle where you get into Georgetown a DISASTER!!! But seriously I don't really think you even need to re take the lsat. I would just apply in September of next year and that should solve some of your issues. If you have your heart set on UVA I think that ED would do the deed and get you in there without any issues.dubsky wrote:Cycle has been a disaster. went complete in mid January. average softs. 170+172/3.5

Yep. Only on here would getting into Georgetown be deemed a disaster. Whatever happened to being appreciative? Whatever happened to realizing that the opportunity to go to GULC is a wonderful one that not too many people have? Its nice to see what the world is coming to...
With that being said, I would say reapply in the fall. Do ED, write a very compelling "why UVA" essay and basically let them know that you really really want to go there. Try to do some volunteer work to add to your "soft" factors. Plus, volunteering might help you get some perspective on things.

Re: What should I do ?
I'm in a similar situation than you, just farther down the ladder... Got into a good school, wanted better, still missing a few responses and am on several waitlists.
My advice is what I plan to do myself: ride the waitlists, and if nothing comes of that, go to GULC (in your case) and concentrate on doing well and being happy! Unless you have a better (and very compelling) reason than rankings alone to want in on another of your choices, it seems madness to me to wait a year for the promise of something that might not materialize. It would just be another year of agonizing and obsessing. Not worth it.

Re: What should I do ?
haha, I'm appreciative !
Unfortunately, I don't anticipate being to add anything substantial to my resume by application time next year. I have a HUGE upward grade trend (3.0-3.1 first 2 years and 3.9+ for the last 2 years).
I was anticipating a MVP acceptance when I applied and I would've been happy with that.
The question on my mind is : assuming I fail to get off any of my wait-lists (Even with the retake), is it worth it to wait a year and apply ED to UM or UVA ? I don't have a well paying job lined up or anything of the sort.
