Texas ($$) vs. Emory (Sticker)

I'm having a hard time deciding. I'm a URM and quality of life means a lot to me. I haven't gone to Emory ASW yet but I really enjoyed UT last weekend. I want to stay in the south after graduation and I'm headed towards biglaw. I guess I'm trying to go to a school that will help me land the best job to pay off these loans and offers a good quality of life.

Texas, this seems like a no-brainer. Better placement, better biglaw chances, better ranking, better reach, and they are giving you money. Congrats, by the way!

This doesn't seem like there should be any debate here. I could understand if the money was from Emory, and UT was at sticker, but even then, it would be more likely Texas would be a better school. I know Emory carries a lot of name rec, but from what I have seen between the two, UT is a much higher regarded school. Of course, you may have personally reasons for this debate, family, housing, like the East Coast better, whatever, but based on what you have said, UT>Emory.

Texas has better biglaw placement and is in Austin. The students study less on average than almost every other school. http://taxprof.typepad.com/taxprof_blog ... eview.html. Arguably better quality of life.

Oh, and it's less debt? 'nuff said.

well i mean, the question is like someone asking:

"i got into Columbia and Cornell, and i want to practice biglaw in NYC in the future...oh and Columbia gave me $$, which should i choose?" lol
