I'm In. My numbers are at/a little above their historical median. Was offered an in-state scholarship, plus a little extra. They're one of my top considerations given the low cost and their solid numbers.

Also in review since 2/15. I have a 3.47/153 - don't know how good my shot is. Anyone care to weigh in?

I am a little bit confused. I applied at the end of December and I have not heard anything. I am hoping I get into Houston but Tech is my back up. I have a 162 2.67. I have good softs, President of Social Fraternity, Peace Corps Volunteer, 3 years work experience (Civil Engineering and Project Management).

Has anyone heard anything from Tech lately? My app has been in review since 2/15 and nothing has changed on it since. ALSO, why is this thread so dead? I figured there would be a little more action than this...

I was accepted 4 days after my original posting. I attended the accepted students events last weekend and it was very helpful in my choice to attend Tech. Hope you hear good news soon.

I got an email with information about the accepted students day and two cases to read for the mock class. I checked the online status checker immediately after receiving the email and it said I had been accepted. You will probably get an email as well.

Same, they said that they had hoped to get some decisions out in the next 2-3 weeks back at the beginning of April.

I can't believe there aren't more people who want/are (to) attend Tech on this board.

This is strange. I was in review 3/8 with a decision 3/11. I talked to others at the chili cook-off and they had fast decisions like I did. Wish I had some insight for you.

Good luck with the process, I hope you (and everyone else) hear back soon.

I submitted an app on 3/15 and heard back the next day. But I have really good numbers for Tech and also have connections to the school.

Did any of you attend the Austin accepted students thing? It looked pretty fancy. :)

I attended and was very impressed. I have visited several of the other Texas schools (UH, SMU, I live in Austin so I've been to the UT law school many times, but not Baylor- just driven by) and the quality of Tech's facilities, faculty and commitment to the students seemed unmatched. I know many attorneys at big law firms in Austin (where I would like to work) and have only heard positive things about Tech from them (several being UT grads). When beginning my research on law schools, I actually didn't know much about Tech until a UT grad suggested I look at them (of course, he, like other attorneys I consulted with said UT should be the top choice). Before visiting, I was also a little trepidatious about Lubbock, but I actually really liked the city. There is no traffic, no humidity, I found good restaurants (even breakfast tacos!), and I didn't see the panhandlers that are ubiquitous in Austin on every street corner. Yes, there is a mighty wind (even mightier in the winter I'm sure), but we've got an allergy season in Austin that is pretty mighty as well. I'm also a swimmer, and the aquatic facilities (indoor & outdoor) at Tech are in walking distance from the law school. If you look through my other posts, I make the argument that Tech is the best deal for law school in Texas outside of UT, and after visiting, this was definitely validated for me. When people talk about a school "feeling right", this was my impression after visiting.

For some context, I graduated from UT in the mid 90's, and have lived in Austin for 20 years. I am an extreme splitter (high LSAT, low GPA) and didn't get in to UT, so my options ended up being SMU, UH, Tech, STCL & Texas Wesleyan.

It is a little ridiculous I haven't heard from Tech yet. My numbers are good enough. I wonder what they are waiting on.

According to LSN, they haven't let anyone know if over 3 weeks. Albeit, I know this is a small sample of the actual population of applicants, but the sample should be indicative of the population. Thus I am assuming no-one/very few amount of people have been notified since 4/2. I hope to know something soon

Anyone have any idea when the next batch of acceptances/WL/denials is suppose to come out?

Looking at LSN from last year, it looks like the majority of remaining decisions were made by the end of April - then a few scattered through May & June (as some students withdraw), if that is any help. Also, looking at your numbers, your GPA is around the median, while your LSAT is lower, so this could be the holdup.

I feel like no one has heard a peep from their admissions office in 3 weeks. This is surprising in that this month has been very active amongst other Texas schools.

When is the last time someone heard something from the admissions office?

According to LSN it looks like another round of decisions were received today.

I got WL

This is odd to me, being that people with worse numbers than me on both ends (LSAT/GPA) were accepted and I wasn't.

Sorry to hear that. Tech must have some odd admission standards, as I thought for sure I wouldn't get in and sure enough I heard back a 'yes' in 4 days after it went complete. They seem really random. Do you think you'll stay on the waitlist?
