Hey, I know alot of schools post first year median salaries. Are there any graduates a few years into legal work that can say what your salaries are now, and what school and rank you had. Thanks

I graduated from Princeton Law back in 03 in the top 1/6 of my class. My starting salary at Bourgin and Burkes was $160,000.

Who knows what could happen in this economy, though?

A quick google search would have done the trick. Seriously, this took me less than 5 seconds.

For biglaw, typical salary structure might look something like what follows:

Also, the problem with many schools reporting their median salaries is that if you look closely that only had a 40-50% reporting rate. As such, the salary figures being reported were typically those who landed big law jobs making $160,000. Indeed, WUSTL comes to mind. Many schools now have decided to present the 25/75 cutoffs, but unless those reporting are representative of the class as a whole, these #'s mean nothing.

To the most part, salaries are still $160k in major markets. Some other players in cities like Atlanta, Dallas and Houston have cut back to $145k (but the COL is significantly less).

OP didn't ask that, s/he asked salaries based on what school you graduated from.

I think OP was looking for personal anecdotes. This might do better in the employment forum.

But OP did ask about current salaries a couple years out of law schools and I feel that the link is somewhat representative of that (assuming biglaw).
