Im at the upper bounds here, but the lower bound of the other splitter thread. While some may take this as i dont belong in either, i say i belong in both.
Anyway:
IN: WUSTL, ND, GW
Out: GULC, UVA, UCLA
WL: nada
Good luck to all!

Re: Weak Splitters 2010 (164-169 2.5-3.0)
Agreed. But, other factors are getting in the way. I sorta need to stay in Chicago and I just don't see a 170+ in my future. I could do a 167-169. But then I have to delay things a year and that doesn't much help my situation. I will be happy with Kent or Loyola w/$$, and I'm going to do my best to play the transfer game and see what happens. Its not ideal but I'm cool with it. I'm not BigLaw or bust so I should be ok.keg411 wrote:That's why we retake and apply all over the place hoping T1's will eventually take us . 165-166 are a little more "no man's land" than 167-169-ers who all have a good chance at WUSTL, UIUC and UMN.Kobe_Teeth wrote:2 for 2 so far (check profile).
165/2.78
Expecting 4 of 7. In at Kent and I suspect 1 of IU-B, Iowa, or WI will come through but probably with no $$$. Doesn't matter, I'm staying in Chicago to be with my SO. She's moving in, works full time and is helping me with CoL.
Also, I know the strong splitters are kicking themselves for screwing around in UG but I feel like the weak splitters have so much more to regret. If you get a 170, you're going to a good school, someone will take you. However, us weak splitters end up in t2's if we want scholarships. Kind of a bummer, but that's life.

Re: Weak Splitters 2010 (164-169 2.5-3.0)
I've found a home thread! Yes!
3.03/164 here. Applied to:
Ohio Northern University (In, Full Ride)
Tulane
UGA
UCLA
Cornell
University of San Diego
Lewis and Clark
Indiana University - Bloomington
William and Mary
Washington and Lee
Texas
University of Washington
University of California - Davis
Notre Dame
Doubt I have much chance at half of these, but I don't want to regret not applying to some of those higher ranked schools that I really like. So I went for it.
I'm complete and waiting everywhere but ONU as I'm sure I will be for awhile. I think being a splitter partially means accepting that you're probably not going to know much at all about where you're going to school until the middle of April.

too late to join the party?
2.75 / 169
Pending everywhere...
UC Davis
Hastings
Loyola LA
Pepperdine
San Diego
Santa Clara
USC
UCLA
Columbia (hah!)
Boalt (hah!)
Cardozo
Fordham
beginning to worry that I dont have a solid auto-admit safety, although I do have a valid medical GPA addendum and a strong PS that I believe is probably different than any PS they have received, so I have no idea what to expect.

There's hope! Just got in at Minnesota with my crazy numbers, I think they've lost their minds a little but I'm not complaining!

I just got in to Alabama! That was the best phone call I've gotten in years haha! Yesterday I was worried about getting in anywhere and today I got into a top 30 school! THERE IS HOPE FOR US THIS CYCLE!! Now I am just hoping my good luck continues since I am not really sure I wanna go to Bama, especially since I am graduating from Auburn haha. I'm thinking I might also be getting in to Wake, any thoughts on Bama vs. Wake? Wake seems to have a better national presence and their median salary is a whole lot higher even though they're ranked lower (not that it's all about the $, but it's never completely not about the $) On the other hand bama will be a lot cheaper and I can get in state after my 1L.

Congrats! That's a great school! Wake vs. Alabama will be tough. That in state tuition is a bargain.
Heard back from Lewis and Clark this weekend with an acceptance. No money yet, but they're supposed to re-evaluate all that in April, and told me I'd be heavily considered at that time.

Re: Weak Splitters 2010 (164-169 2.5-3.0)
I'd say I fall into this group, considering my downward GPA trend. 165 / 3.23 (3.09 in last 3 years, and as low as 2.8 one semester).
Still waiting to hear from Colorado-Boulder, Tulane, LSU, and Georgia State. Held at Florida and Georgia.

Re: Weak Splitters 2010 (164-169 2.5-3.0)
i consider myself a weak splitter.
2.5 170
Huge upward trend. My school calculates my GPA at 3.74. Last six semesters above 3.5 even according to LSAC.
Oregon: In w/ $
Idaho: In
Willamette: In w/ $$$$(full rideish)
Lewis and Clark: held for further review
Utah: WL
Illinois: WL
Depaul: WL
Duke: WL
UVA: Reject
WUSTL: In Review
Chicago-Kent: In Review
UC Davis: Awaiting Review
UCLA: Pending
Gonzaga: In Review
Columbia: HAHAHA I haven't even checked
Seattle: In Review
Iowa: Pending
Happy with Oregon. I'm hoping Chicago-Kent throws some money my way for some bargaining power. Not hopeful most places except Utah off the WL, Seattle, should be in at Gonzaga, L&C off waitlist.
If I magically get into UC Davis, Illinois, UCLA, Iowa, or WUSTL, I will attend. Otherwise its looking like Oregon.

I haven't heard from IU-B either. They did send a mass email a week ago asking everyone to be patient and that they had quite an increase in apps this year. I'm extremely curious about that one though, given my numbers.mountaintime wrote:in @ GMU and W&L
