What's the most one can actually receive from FAFSA?

Good question. I was always under the idea that it depends on a combo of your income and what the school itself can offer which you are going to. I hope someone has more information about this than I, I'd really like to know.

For grad school, you're probably going to get a thousand dollars of subsidized loans (at most) and the rest a mix of unsubsidized loans and GradPLUS loans. There is no federal need based aid for graduate schooling.

This is from the SAR report you get after completing your FAFSA
You are not eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant because you reported
that you have a bachelor's degree (Item 27) or you are working on a degree
beyond a bachelor's degree (Item 48). Your Financial Aid Administrator will
determine what types of federal student aid you are eligible to receive.
