I'm coming out of heavy debt after HYP undergrad. BU has offered me 20k/ year, and I just got into upenn. What should i do?
not sure what i wanna do with my life...
very debt averse at this point.
does upenn give good financial aid? is it well respected?

Wait and see what UPenn offers before you commit one way or the other. While I love BU and am heavily considering a future matriculation to that campus, UPenn is without a doubt more prestigious.

U Penn? I think I've heard of them. They beat LSU in bowl game this year, right?

Penn is one of the top ten law schools in the country. It's an Ivy, and on top of that, it's not Cornell.

I hesitate to advise anyone on matters involving personal finances, but I should mention that Penn is significantly (and more broadly) better respected than BU. So I would recommend trying to leverage as much aid as you can out of them rather than simply going with the easy offer. You should also realize that you'll probably be committed to practicing in New England if you choose BU. I'm not suggesting that there's anything wrong with a career there if you like the region, but it's something to consider.

It depends on the region to some extent, but I would say that Penn >> UCLA > BU.

This obviously depends on which side of the Mississippi you live on. For folks on the east side, it's Penn >> BU > UCLA.
