I'm bored, so what the heck?

How often do you check status checkers (for all or most schools that have them)? Approximately.

Post about your status-checker habits.

I definitely blow up the status checkers for the schools that I've applied to (well, the ones that have them anyways).

I only check some status checkers. If a school accepts/declines over status checker - then, quite frequently. But if a school contacts everyone by snail mail, I won't check at all, or hardly ever. The torture's not worth it. If a school accepts via e-mail and declines/WL by snail mail, I might check that every so often to see if an unfortunate letter is on the way. Schools that do everything by mail, I'll never check those. Just not worth it.

it is a hobby. i even check the status checkers of schools i didnt apply to.

This. Plus I'll only check ones that gave responses to people within a similar time frame from the last cycle. No point in checking U Chicago etc. because I don't except to hear anything for a long time etc.

Also, no point in checking UIUC b/c Pless is so open about where they are in the process in terms of who's being reviewed etc.

Also, Cornell's status checker is worthless because they never update anything (and I guess it takes 2 months go go "complete?" I can't imagine how long it takes to go "under review."

i go through phases....sometimes not for days, sometimes compulsively

I work doubles almost everyday, and I tell people I do that so I cannot sit at home and stare at my status checkers

LOL! Same here! I try everything and anything to keep myself busy and away from my computer. I would seriously drive myself insane if I didn't.

In November/early December I was checking them 4+ times per day, but now that I am much less neurotic about my cycle, I am down to only checking them once every 1-3 days.

I only check them when I see something happening with a school via TLS

I've applied to so many school I don't even remember who has status checkers, who doesn't, where I've heard from...

Just got everything sent in first week of january- totally worthless at this point- ask me in a month or two and answer could be different--figure i can relax and do other shit- ive only set up status checkers for 3 or 4 of the 16 schools i applied t

I feel sorry for the folks who are neurotic about frequently checking their status on their blackberrys/Iphones. I couldn't imagine having my life hijacked like that.

I'm definitely guilty of checking status checkers on my iPhone all day while I'm at school

It helps that I've only got two schools left that even use the status checker. They also use Twitter, and I'm way more neurotic in checking that.

I've only got UVA, Berkeley, and WUSTL left, as far as schools with status checkers go, none of which I am particularly excited for.

Because I am already in at the schools which I actually have a reasonable shot at getting money from (UF, UGA, Emory), I barely ever check now. I know I am going to be waiting a long time for the other decisions. No point in checking now.

I've banned myself from checking via iPhone unless I'm traveling, but during the week I usually check at least a few times/day, even for Columbia and Cornell, which I KNOW aren't going to change!

Is anybody making any decisions today? Is there a point in checking status on the weekend?

I have personally banned myself from looking at my status checkers at work. I work on a computer and would not be able to be productive if I checked em every few hours.

The farthest I've seen one of my apps go is "in review" do they end up saying "accepted" or "rejected"? Or do they reserve e-mails and letters for that?

I use google's site:http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums to search the forum, was trying to find info on the stages of a status checker... I saw January 27th as the last post and thought this thread was from today.
