YEAH, DIGITAL HIGH FIVE BABY. This thread is already so much better than the C/O 2013 thread.

Anyway.

So I was looking at the schedules, and apparently is it 7 substantive courses, plus legal writing, plus an elective spring semester. but I was unclear on whether LRW was graded or not.

Georgiana wrote:First semester you take 4 doctrinal classes and legal writing, this ads up to a crazy 18 credits. Legal writing is not graded though and ends shortly after Thanksgiving so it's not terrible at all first semester (or ever really...). Second semester is two mandatory classes (4 creds each) and 2 electives (3 creds each) as well as legal writing. The electives are not completely elective in that there are two categories of classes you have to take (one class from each). One category is regulatory (Environmental law, Admin, International law etc) and the other is perspectives (intellectual property, chinese law, law and equality etc). It's a lot of work but not too terrible looking back on it :)

if it makes you happy, I suppose.

I am bored with the admissions cycle and thus spend all my free obsessing time obsessing over clinicals and apartments and student groups.

Make sure you save the climax for ASW.

Right now, Michigan. The only other schools that could sway me are Harvard (looks like I ain't getting a call), Columbia (too expensive?), and Northwestern (too close to home, maybe...). So, we'll see.

besides my freakish love for penn, the low COL is definitely a serious plus IMO. I will be paying living expenses completely out of loans, and hopefully that can be under or around 1k a month which would be impossible in NYC.

Yeah, definitely. When I saw how much apartments cost in Philly, I was impressed. I'm not going to be getting any financial aid (my parents are rich, but haven't paid for college...), and one of my friends is at Columbia and is starving on what he can get out of loans. So, I'll just save up and hopefully have more money at hand.

I can't really save up a lot before school, but I think that, if I can either get a studio or share an apartment with a roommate, I can save some money there. Though I would rather pay more and be close to campus.
