Same here. Application Complete. I'm out-of-state, so here's to hoping!

Ha. I submitted mine on December 2nd, so I guess we must be in the same batch.

I am out of state, too! But would LOVE to go to UNC. Have you visited?

I'm an undergrad here if anyone has any questions about Chapel Hill or Carrboro. That said, it's one of my top choices and my most likely destination. I know quite a few people who have either gone here for law school or are in it now, they all love it but obviously it's hard work.

Submitted on 10/20 and just went complete maybe two weeks ago. Apparently we won't hear anything until Feb at the earliest, UGH.

Ha count me in! I really wish UNC had a shorter turnaround time since it is my top choice.

ps there's already another UNC waiting thread, but too lazy to dig it up.

LSATfromNC, this is your 2nd cycle?

Complete earlier this month. From NC and currently live in the Durham/Chapel Hill area. Accepted last year but needed to withdraw. Hopefully there will be some money (I don't expect much) this time around.

Where'd you hear February? Dean States told me they send the first batch of acceptances out after Christmas. Obviously, these are only the auto-admits but they do start before February.

Win! Congrats, it must feel awesome!

Why is that?

On http://www.lawschoolnumbers.com's data for UNC applicants last year, no one reported being accepted before 2/13. In 2007-08 and in 2005-06, 2-3 people had acceptances around Christmas. Other than that, it seems like February is standard.

However, it would be nice if they would change it up this year and send out decisions earlier.

What is considered an auto-admit?

Went complete today. I guess that means they gave me a fee waiver. Cool.

They told me they don't give fee waivers except for the LSAC Fee Waiver o.O

Applied 10/20, received complete e-mail on 12/18. They have me listed as a "probable resident", although the guy on the phone said that I was considered a resident. I'm not really holding my breath on getting anything any time soon.

Did anyone else send in their UNC app much later than all the others due to the extra essay?

You mean the Why essay? I spent maybe an hour on it, I was just honest.

They also kind of asked for specifics in their main personal statement that I had not included in my generic PS. The combination of having to alter that, the why essay, and not just being able to electronically pay, made me drag my feet. In other words I was just lazy, but still.

UNC is my most likely destination. NC resident. Looking forward to a decision.
