If you just want editing for grammar, using a consultant is a huge waste. If you want them to work with you on crafting it and giving substantive advice, it might not be a bad idea, assuming you have the money. I had one session with a consultant (was able to get it free through my undergrad prelaw office) and I found it pretty useful. People on TLS are useful, but they will often have pretty disparate opinions. At least you can be reasonably certain that a consultant (one that has actually been on an admissions committee) knows what they are talking about. The PS is probably not going to make or break your application (though some admissions people claim it can), but you might as well make it as good as possible, given that going to law school is a huge commitment and you want your apps to be as strong as possible.whacka wrote:That's just about the biggest waste of money I can think of. TLS does it for free.mornincounselor wrote:So, today is probably the worst day ever to try and get a question answered but ...
Has anyone had luck using one of those essay editing services for fixing the grammer in a PS? I contacted the guys from Spivey Consulting, but they are outside of my price range. Has anyone tried EssayEdge, or something similar?

I come back and somebody snaked my tar? and then got punished with a Cooley one? Man.
Also snaked my tar is a great phrase.[/quote]
In my defense, I've only come out of lurker status for the past 48 hours and this I my first day on this thread...
Great minds think alike?
