The turnaround time isn't listed, but according to this they send an email http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 7&t=242042 My guess is that UR4s will hear something by Friday, but that's 100% a guessbell wrote:UR4!!!
What's the turnaround time here? Do they usually call or...?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like most of the 'cold' interviews were people with very high numbers (judging by the crossover with the Harvard thread). If that's true it might be that they act tougher either to gauge your true interest vs YHS or hammy etc, or to see if you're scholarship material.lemondrop wrote:Oh man, sorry to hear that, hopefully it will be good news!Dcc617 wrote:And we'll know in the next few days about whether or not it meant anything. My interviewer wasn't as cold as some others here are describing, but she definitely acted very rudely - especially when answering my questions (they were perfectly normal questions that I had asked Harvard and Columbia as well).

Re: Chicago C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Gonna bust that theory here - I felt my interviewer was quite cold and also was somewhat rude in response to my questions, but I definitely don't have very high numbers (and I'm not applying to HYS). I think it's just a style some members of the admissions department like to use, so if you get one of them, that's how it'll go.cantorb wrote:Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like most of the 'cold' interviews were people with very high numbers (judging by the crossover with the Harvard thread). Same experience here. It really threw me off, because I felt the questions I were asking were totally normal, but my interviewer seemed to treat them as if they were accusatory. Hopefully it doesn't mean anything, though.cantorb wrote:Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like most of the 'cold' interviews were people with very high numbers (judging by the crossover with the Harvard thread). I had my interview back in November and I thought it was really pleasant. I interviewed with Dean Perry. Is there any significance behind who interviews you? I've heard it doesn't for other schools, but I want more hope.

Last year, first UR4 was 12/29 and first decisions 12/31, so maybe, just maybe, we could hear tomorrow. A man can dream.

I interviewed with Raegan Butler and she was very warm, and easy to talk to. I even made a slightly self-deprecating joke at one point and she jumped in and talked me up. My numbers are pretty high, so I don't agree that they treat competitive applicants in a rude or cold way. It's just luck of the draw as far as which adcom interviews you.

UR4 is like having your Domino's Pizza tracker reading complete for your pizza to just sit there and get cold.

I found Raegan was really warm as well. It was a fun conversation, especially considering i did it right after the Cornell-robointerview. Also my numbers arent very competitive so i was pretty shocked to get the interview in the first place.maracuya wrote:I interviewed with Raegan Butler and she was very warm, and easy to talk to. I had Raegan Butler as well. She was good but just a tad shy of warm. Questions felt very forced/from a checklist. Not cold by any means though.jnwa wrote:I found Raegan was really warm as well. Re: Chicago C/O 2019 Applicants (2015-2016)
Key here being that it is neither a reflection of the interviewer or the interviewee (I hope). I could definitely sense that Raegan was extremely nice and sweet, it seemed more like the situation (the interview) was a bit off.Wahrheit wrote:~~~Reminder that it is not the interviewer but the interview itself that the style is dependent on.~~~
It's totally arbitrary which style of interviewing which interviewer uses with each interviewee. You are overthinking it and should not think of that as a reflection of them as individuals.
Raegan, Annette, and Dean Perry are all wonderful people and I am sure that you will enjoy meeting and talking to them at ASW.
Thanks for the insight btw!

Seconded. I've been interviewed twice by Ms. Butler, and once I left feeling like a blubbering fool, and the other time I left feeling like I had a new friend vouching for me. The tone is just like the choice of which subset of questions to ask; they're both interview tactics to see how you respond. Prepare for either experience.Wahrheit wrote:~~~Reminder that it is not the interviewer but the interview itself that the style is dependent on.~~~

I probably applied much later than most of you (early December), but it still makes me nervous seeing my UR1 unchanging while everyone else is getting movement
