So, you'd rather have frozen chicken nuggets rather than filet mignon? MREs and energy drinks dulling your tastes?

Okay, can you possibly withhold judgement until you're on here a little longer? There are a couple other posters on here routinely described as "so funny dcc617" and "unbelievably handsome DC." I mean, Barley is cool, but is she "my role model and inspiration to be a better person?"McJimJam wrote:Compendium Log-Day1: It took mere moments for me to find my favorite poster in this thread, will lurk further to verify.barley wrote: ETA I watched the cactus juice scene yesterday!

What kind of Jigaw-esque trap have you built for me here? Please don't make me pick between frozen chicken nuggets and filet mignon. I love them. And, not that I think about it, they would make an awesome sandwich.fips tedora wrote:So, you'd rather have frozen chicken nuggets rather than filet mignon? Has anyone here been involved with local politics/government? Now that I'm done with applying (except for that Columbia waiver
), I'm thinking about volunteering.

Not entirely sure. I have experience in K-12 education, so school board would actually be pretty cool. Otherwise, I'd probably do something with the city council or my state senator/delegate's local office.gobears!! wrote:I volunteered for both the local school board and city council. Re: c/o 2019 Applicant Compendium (2015 - 2016)
Yeah, it is probably going to be a bunch of campaigning stuff, but I'm okay with that. Our AG is a pretty cool dude, so I'm also thinking about maybe helping out there.gobears!! wrote: It really comes down to your district/municipality for civic volunteering. For the city council I helped coordinate some of the youth events; for the school board its essentially mentoring gigs here and there. Because election season is kicking into full swing they may be focusing their attention on campaigns so there have to be some opportunities there. If not, you may be able to get a position responding to constituency concerns/letters on behalf of whichever politician. The county bar association might have some cool volunteering opportunities too. I know my county uses volunteers like paralegals to attorneys helping with assault/advocacy cases. The only way to really find out what is available is to reach out directly.

I got an email today from the University of Utah saying that since I live in Arizona I should come to the law fair in Colorado that they are attending. I live in Utah 20 minutes from the school and went there for my undergrad.
