Question - from LSN it looks like there hasn't been too many URMs admitted ...

I'm a URM 3.73/166 submitted on 11/22 and have not heard anything back so far ... is it totally unrealistic to expect an answer relatively soon, or is it time to give up hope and prepare for a waitlist/ding/hold towards the end of the cycle?

Congrats to all of the admits!! And good luck to everyone still waiting :D

Thanks, soj. I have withdrawn and will continue to withdraw from any schools I’m no longer considering and wouldn’t put in more than one seat deposit.

Today is my Birthday Columbia. Did you send me a vomit wrapped present in the mail?

Seriously. Plus is it really farfetched that someone might choose Columbia over Stanford (scholarship options/wanting to be on east coast/wanting to work in NY/not wanting to study or work in California)?. It's not like you are waiting between Stanford and some TTT/TTTT that you absolutely, positively would never choose to attend over stanford.

AmandaPB wrote:Okay, I don’t understand why everyone always says something about how I’m in at Stanford anytime I comment on another school’s thread. There are SO many people who are in at Harvard/Yale/Stanford or with full-tuition, named scholarships that are still considering other, lower-ranked schools. I don’t really understand why I’m one of the few that gets shit about it. Yes, I’m still considering other schools and until I withdraw or send in a seat deposit things are up in the air.
We might be jealous (or at least I am) that we'll most likely be in the frozen northeast while you enjoy mild California weather

I wasn't trying to be rude or anything...I was just wondering. I don't think people object to u in the thread. I think we are kinda interested in your cycle so we are curious.

I was hoping to hear something today but all's been quiet, though my dorm's mail room can be slow so I might get lucky before the end of the day. New York area, 12/31 submit, 1/12 complete, request for fall grades on 2/1. My numbers are good enough that I'm pretty hopeful about my chances, but the waiting is killing me.

Can someone smart set up a spreadsheet for the people still waiting? (Or one in general?)

Haha, not out of context, exactly, but I know what you're saying. I've just never been that comforted by being told I'm bad at something I did as a favor even if they follow it up with an I love you

I know right? I felt so good about myself then I got smacked down.

Besides, it's a new thing called crowd sourcing. Someday I'll write briefs this way.
