Kicking myself for not applying here earlier. LSN is a sea of greeen! By the time I get my status checker (which I have not yet) Michigan will be like "Damn, look at all of our admits. Time to start waitlisting/rejecting".....SUX.

For real, utterly ridiculous.

For those of you that haven't gotten your status checker, when did you submit? I submitted 11/13. Has anyone gotten a status checker within the past week?

Just to give you a little reassurance (and myself as well), I got the email from Michigan confirming that they had received my application on 11/14.

Still no status checker.

Save room in the class of 2015 for me, please!

See, I would hate a phone call or her showing up at my doorstep. I think I'd have a panic attack. At least when I log onto ASW I can freak out in peace (and all I said was "holy shit over and over," which is not good if she were to call or visit me personally). I still look at my admit letter with the personalized note. I think that is by far the best way to do it (for me).

I don't know. So far I've received a very nice piece of snail mail with a note from the dean, a standard email, and a phone call from a dean announcing an acceptance I honestly didn't ever expect (I was extremely close to just not even applying because of the futility).

Out of 10 I would probably rate them: 7, 4 and 9, respectively. The phone call was a serious honor. I still smile thinking about it, even if I gushed and embarrassed myself during

I don't know, I think it would be great to be told over the phone but I definitely agree that it would be awesome to be able to freak out in peace and then have a letter to look at over and over to convince yourself you weren't dreaming :p

I'm kind of conflicted about this too. I kind of wish it went back to the snail mail days all around and you had to find out by mail. This way people wouldn't freak out when X person that submitted on X day and with X numbers got a call but they didn't and start pondering what that means for them if they're similar to X person. Or if their status checker updated or didn't update or someone took the week off. Which then subsequently caused me to freak out many times because as a N00B I was impressed by the level of detail that people had about the way cycles worked and your chances and timelines and such... only to then find out that they were wrong all along.

well, 11/18ers are just now being accepted. I got my status checker on the 22nd... so a while

Someone more obsessive then you will be checking first, so don't start until other people around your timeline have started hearing back would be my advice.

Also, if you could help to not check at all you might enjoy it. I didn't find out through ASW and it was quite lovely.

I literally made that noise in my office getting this status checker. I think I just realized how committed I've become to Mich. You know it's bad when you're ready to quit your job to celebrate the CHANCE of getting to check to see if you're in a school.
