It's not. We 12/12ers are getting in. No worries! I mean, just think about how damned handsome we all are. Cornell wants us. Cornell wants us bad. They're just playing hard to get.

I have similar numbers, and according to LSN Cornell probably YPs between 25-40% of the people who have autoadmit numbers. It's lower than at other schools, but it seems to happen.scottybared wrote:And there's no way you're not getting in with your numbers. I guess I won't be super disappointed if that happens to me (or if they just reject me for being an ass, or something), but it would be nice to have them as an option. The school really is amazing.

Oh, totally. I really admire when a school lets in (numerically) overqualified people... I think it shows they have a lot of pride in their institution. I think Cornell is a good example of the practice of maybe weeding out the people who don't write a "Why Cornell?" or who have nothing compelling aside from a high LSAT, while keeping the others that will probably go elsewhere, but could conceivably go to Cornell.msblaw89 wrote:^^ but they have accepted people with similiar numbers or higher... Re: Cornell c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I wrote a "Why Cornell" in addition to my PS, so if I am not accepted I know it wasn't b/c or that. I think the academic culture is what is most appealing. Like I said before, I want to have friends AND go to a prestigious law schooladdy11 wrote:Oh, totally. I really admire when a school lets in (numerically) overqualified people... I think I went complete on 11/21 and UR on 12/14, if that helps. GPA is somewhere between 25th-50th, and LSAT is above 75th.

Uh, no? They WL'd a lot of sub-170s, which is def not YP, but most of the other WL are people who applied January or later (and there are very few of those at or above 170).addy11 wrote: I have similar numbers, and according to LSN Cornell probably YPs between 25-40% of the people who have autoadmit numbers. Sorry, I guess I was reading into the huge number of "Pendings" I saw for the 170+ crowd who applied in Sept/Oct/Nov.luxxe wrote:Uh, no? We got this. Who wouldn't want us? That's a far more interesting question.
