It's okay, you shouldn't feel badly. I spent most of Friday watching all of the episodes of Mr. Robot. Phenomenal show. I highly recommend.slippin_jimmy wrote:Everyone's productivity is impressive. Meanwhile, all I've done is made a dent in the second season of Downton Abbey. And by dent, I mean watched almost all of it in one day.

I read this as "I got good letters of rec from friends" and thought you were getting desperate because the carrier pigeons didn't make it or something...slippin_jimmy wrote:Ooh, yes, it's on my list - I've had many good recs about it from friends.fips tedora wrote:It's okay, you shouldn't feel badly. I'm feeling pretty zen about my LORs - I decided that I'll be happy as long as I submit by the 3rd week of September, so they can take their sweet time.basedvulpes wrote:Week goals: turning up the heat on professors to get their LORs in.
My week's goal is to draft one "Why X" essay a day, starting with Duke! I got weirdly excited about Duke yesterday for some reason.

Agreed. The DC metro area is weird because there are people from all over the nation here and we are sheltered by those sweet, sweet federal dollars.slippin_jimmy wrote:Also, I am awkwardly from the border between Greater Appalachia and the Midlands. I feel like that can account for some of my regional identity issues.

I think it's doable! I might miss a day if I decide to hang out with friends or something, but even so it'll be easy to catch up.benwyatt wrote:+1slippin_jimmy wrote:Woooo, yay Duke. It's only like 2 paragraphs, that's doable, right?

Re: c/o 2019 Applicant Compendium (2015 - 2016)
I feel ya. I just know that I'd probably be skipping Why X's for certain schools I don't love, or writing really lazy ones, if I were able to submit right away. So I've pretty successfully convinced myself that the wait is a good thingbasedvulpes wrote:I'm just really hating that the biggest thing keeping me from applying to schools now is completely out of my hands.
