Thank you very much! If you find out it contains any info on deposit/withdraw, could you please let me know?
It contains: the acceptance letter, financial aid checklist, information about deposits*, and a letter about disability accommodations.

*First deposit of $250 is to be postmarked by April 15, and the second deposit of $450 by May 16. They ask that you either send in the first deposit or withdraw as soon as possible, and give the email address to use.

Let me know if you need anything else! (Have not read the magazine, though!)

So, my email didn't invite me to apply for any scholarship. Does this mean I'm not getting any merit aid?

The emails with scholarship essay invites only mentioned the Dean's Scholarships and only ~10 of those are given out per year. It didn't mention any other scholarships/merit aid (though there obviously has to be more given out) so I would assume that the invite is just for that one scholarship and that everyone is considered for general merit aid. This is all just speculation on my part, though! Maybe call them and ask about merit aid notification?

Hmmm, actually that's sort of weird, isn't it? With all the YPing they've been doing, why would they admit you and then shoot down any chance that you might possibly attend?

At any rate, congrats on your admit, and your other great acceptances!

In!!!!! I'm very excited. This morning was the morning that the internet decided to not work, so I was unable to check my email for about an hour, which was rather upsetting considering this was the last possible day to hear back under the EA, but it was well worth the wait! :D

Early Action and Under Review as of 11/29. I have received no word from Cornell and I just called and received an out of office message on their machine.

Anyone else in this situation? I did have to have a Deans Cert Letter faxed a couple of weeks after the deadline (at their request). Could that have pushed me into the regular pool?

Very disappointing...I've been checking my email like every hour for the last week.

Just got my admitted student packet today. I was hoping for some swag but I knew not to expect any from previous posts. Congrats to all the other EA admits!

Merit aid other than the deans scholarship comes later, after you feel out the finical aid forms for Cornell.

Oh for serious? So I'm not completely locked out of aid? How many schools tie merit aid to need?

You're not at all locked out for aid. Like Cy said, Cornell decides the bulk of aid later on based on both merit and need. Dunno about other schools though.
