Not at all -- I rang them in early Nov and the person I spoke to at admissions said they're holding off on processing everyone who didn't submit EA/by Nov 1st. She also indicated that they would probably begin processing the next batch on Dec 1st, so I would wait another week or two before freaking out fully :-).

So you guys remember how the application had a spot for asking who influenced your decision to apply? Well, I just figured, hey it's Cornell and they sent me a fee waiver, so I'll apply. So I couldn't think of anyone to put down. So I wrote "Andrew Bernard". Do you think they've heard that one a hundred times? And will it make a difference?

Also, I want my decision.

To be honest, I imagine they've heard it far more than a hundred times--if not on applications, certainly from many, many relatives and acquaintances who know they work there. And I suspect that it will actually hurt your application. I hate to say that, and I don't think it will make a big difference, but I can't imagine they'd think anything about it other than "wow, this person really must have taken the application seriously." And that is NOT what you want them thinking about your application (at least, not with the sarcastic tone that I hope came through in my writing).

But hey, who knows?

Anyone else notice a trend on LSN for the dates people all got accepted or rejected? Looks like they sent out acceptances 12/13, then rejections 12/14....nothing today. Fingers crossed for positive news tomorrow!

Hey all,

I'm a 1L at Cornell, accepted EA last year on 12/08.

Keep your heads up. It will all be worth it in the end.

I take it you like it? Does that mean it's not nearly as cutthroat and depressing as people make it out to be?

Any Early Action people still not hear back? I've been UR since 11/29 and I'm getting worried! I'm pretty borderline so I wouldn't think that it would take so long to let me know that I'm being deferred. Hoping for good news though! Cornell is my first choice right now.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
