If they reject or waitlist you, they don't email you, right? You have to check online or wait for the snail mail, correct?

Also in! Just got the acceptance email at about 230pm central time. I was part of the 12/1 or 2--> 12/7 --> 12/10 group. My guess is if you didn't hear from that group this morning with the scholarship invite, you'll be emailed shortly with an acceptance.

Re: Cornell 2011 applicants
Just got the email as well (3:29 EST). Submitted 10/26, complete 11/19. 3.69/171.
I'm very, very happy to be accepted. But I'm just wondering, does the fact that I didn't get an invite to apply for the scholarship mean that I won't be eligible for any merit money from Cornell? Or do they consider people later for smaller merit aid packages? Sorry, I'm not sure if anyone knows the answer to this, but would appreciate any thoughts.
Congrats to everyone who heard today!!!

Well, I don't work at the Cornell Admissions office, but the email with the Dean's Scholarship invite mentioned that they only give 10 of these per year. I suspect they'll consider the entire applicant pool for smaller packages, rather than just the folks who apply for the Dean's but aren't chosen.Excellence = a Habit wrote:Just got the email as well (3:29 EST). Wow, you're right! It's my first Ivy acceptance ever too and I totally forgot that aspect of it. Being from the East Coast, this is a substantially big deal. Wahoo!Trustbuster wrote:I'm in!

I'm from Texas. My options were essentially Rice or Duke for upper level undergrad. Rejected by both then. THE TIDES HAVE TURNED HAVEN'T THEY?!

Anyone have a ballpark on how many people are invited to apply for the scholarship or numbers? On LSN it looks like those who got it last year were 3.86+171+ (or so a thread said that I just stalked..)

I believe (but I could be wrong) that phillyr6 got invited, and he's got 4.0/170, I think. I'm not sure if you meant that invited people tended to be at/above BOTH 3.86 and 171, or just at/above one of those, but anyways, it's an example of someone belowarism87 wrote:Anyone have a ballpark on how many people are invited to apply for the scholarship or numbers?
