I'm gonna be someplace warm with someone beautiful and plenty of liquor. So I wouldn't mind the news coming in then either way.

Hahaha that's awesome. Have fun! (I am picturing a ski lodge with a giant bar and a really hot blonde lady/man, and a bearskin rug in front of the fireplace.)

11/22 with no change. At this point, I'd be ecstatic just to go under review.

That is my complete date, and I submitted 10/30.

I have this nagging suspicion (which seems to be reinforced with Duke's response) that a lot of schools are waiting for my fall grades to come in before making any decisions. Still, waiting sucks.

Ah. That very well could be. Sorry about the Duke result, but you're still in the running.

eh, I'm actually encouraged by Duke's response. This could just be wishful thinking, but I gotta figure they would've rejected or waitlisted me (or at least deferred me to RD) if they didn't think I had a shot at getting in ED. So I'm gonna do my best to hit a 4.0 this semester and write a convincing "Why Duke," and we'll see what happens. At worst, an improved cGPA will make me more competitive at some of these schools. At best, I'll be heading to Duke and all of this will be moot.

I'm applying to Duke over winter break. If I get accepted, I'll be seeing you there (assuming I even decide to go there)

You mean I won't see you there if you don't decide to go there?

You should be happy about that, b/c it seems like most 12/10'ers got slapped with deferrals.

Edit: I love the anticipation on Sunday night of embarking on a brand new week of law school drama. Hope Monday ushers in a week of good news for all!

I didn't. Maybe that means they're not going to defer me?
