Probably a weird question, but is it possible to have your application switched over to Early Decision at this point? My wife was accepted at UVA (not law school), and it's really the only option for me right now. UVA was already a top choice, and I'd love to go there, I don't mean to sound like I'm only going to make my SO happy.

My numbers are decent (~3.6/171), but not enough to get serious money anywhere else. I think I have a shot at at least a small scholarship, but does ED hurt that?

I hope this works for you! I applied early b/c I was in a very similar situation with my wife (and stats). At the very least, explaining your situation would seem like a really compelling LOCI/why UVA.

Not sure if it's possible. They've historically been pretty generous with scholarships (around 10k/year usually) to ED applicants whose stats merit it, but things may be different with the new dean.

Another thing to add: even for ostensible "merit scholarships" they definitely take into account need (especially for ED candidates where they already have you locked in).

But yeah, if it comes at all it will likely come towards the end when they know how much money they have left. And since this is Cordel's first cycle running things it's anyone's guess. Expect to pay sticker and take it as a nice surprise if they give you something.

I got mine the next day, but I know some people got theirs the same day. 1-3 days seems to be pretty typical.
