In w/10k! Excited! I haven't had an acceptance in quite awhile. Since I didn't even think I would get in...getting $ is pretty cool.

what are your stats if you don't mind me asking? out of state?

Do you think that they're giving out little money to people with higher numbers in this third batch because they don't think you'll attend? It seems odd to me that people way above my numbers are getting smaller scholarships than I did.

3.5x/165. OOS. In hindsight, I was actually kind of competitive? Nevertheless, still excited.

I just received my admit packet! I got the graduate fellowship plus $10,000!!! I'm pretty surprised at this but really happy =) Congrats to everyone else!

Can someone explain these fellowships to me? Do you have to apply for them or is everyone automatically considered? Thanks!

They're called Graduate Fellowships, and they're only for out-of-state applicants. It's basically a $13k/yr package; $9k of it makes up the difference b/w out-of-state tuition and in-state tuition, and $4k of it is a stipend (which therefore counts as taxable income). Since part of it makes up the difference b/w OOS/IS tuitions, the Fellowship amount could theoretically fluctuate over the course of 3 years. You don't apply for this one; they're awarded to applicants automatically.

Also, as part of the deal, you both have to work for the law admin. during all 3 yrs (1st year- 8hrs/wk or so in the law library, 2nd/3rd years- 10hrs/wk doing research w/ a prof) and, I believe, you can't be in the bottom of the class (i.e., the bottom 30%).

Don't worry about it. I went complete in Nov. and status checker is still blank. I received my admit packet today.

My status went blank today, but frankly, I'm looking on it as a step up from the maddening incomplete. (You can't be incomplete! I sent everything through LSAC at the same time! LIES!)

Assuming what - that you'll get a 165+ ?

Yes, you certainly have a shot. But if your numbers are weak (i.e., 164 or lower), you probably don't stand much of a chance.

Does it say "2.0" explicitly?

If I remember correctly, the Grad Fellowship requires a "B" average at minimum.

Also, I received an add'l scholarship w/ no strings attached.

Yep, mine was contingent on maintaining a C average.

Yeah, same. I like UIUC better as a school by just a bit, and they also gave me a better offer. That said, W&M's tuition makes me happy that there's a cheap law school out there still.

I'm OOS. If I were in state, the offer would be a lot more compelling. 90k+ debt from W&M isn't sounding too appealing to me.
