Does anyone have an idea of the timing for Army Corps of Engineers hiring after the qualification interview? I'm aware that after being qualified your information goes out to the regional offices who can then reach out for interviews, but does anyone have an idea of how long that usually takes? Or how often it's happened that someone's qualification has expired before they found a position?
You'll hear from them as soon as they'll need a new hire. Had my qualifying interview in October and regional offices started to reach out in November.

Still also waiting to hear back from them, have heard absolutely nothing for awhile. At this rate, I'm wondering if an agency has ever just decided to not hire anyone for a program?

Same. I interviewed but have been completely ghosted by them despite sending multiple emails the past two months. Anyone getting responses from the FCC or getting ghosted like me?

So I did some digging. I spoke with someone that applied to their program last year, and they were completely ghosted and never heard anything despite reaching out multiple times. Their timeline eerily matched mine. As far as I can tell, no one was hired last year, and it seemingly is happening this year as well. I guess the FCC has just been terrible with managing their program but wanna share this for current/future applicants to be wary that it appears the agency has a tendency to just never follow up with anyone at all for their honors program.

Thanks for sharing. I've been ghosted as well, I applied back in October and randomly heard from them about 1-2 months ago but no follow up. Now I know to not get my hopes up

Anyone else here that accepted an IRS Honors position? What's the status of your onboarding? HR has my final transcript after graduation, but I've yet to be contacted about fingerprinting, background investigation, etc.

I did too. My interview is 2 hours long. I asked if they interview everyone and they said they only interview if something is flagged on your report. I asked what was flagged on mine and they provided me with that information. (It wasn’t a surprise to me)

Received an interview request for security clearance process. They told me it's going to be 4 hours. Is this normal?
Yeah, in the follow up they explained me the reason at it is totally valid one lol.
I’m still super nervous though! Good luck with the interview :)
Had the interview. Turns out people at your agency decided whether the clearance could be granted or not. These people(who do the investigation) are just collecting and writing up a report with the information they get from the interview, and then provide it to your agency security people.
How did it go? Was it intimidating?

Did they say how long it will take before you hear whether your clearance is granted? And what clearance level are you applying for?
I am applying for secret clearance. Because of my background (born and raised in Russia), my experience was probably be different from your average applicant lol. Mostly questions about being affiliated with/having any allegiance to foreign countries. The investigator told me there shouldn't be any reason to not receive the clearance because the biggest reasons for denial(extensive contacts with a foreign government and/or serious financial troubles that would make you susceptible to bribes) are not present in my case. But again, my agency will adjudicate this case, the investigator simply collects the info.
Just to follow up on this: apparently I was granted secret clearance back in April, nobody notified me about it. Posting this for other people who are freaking out about getting the clearance that if I got it(and there is so much more in my life than just being born and raised in Russia), you probably don't have anything to worry about. Caveat: I didn't have any financial issues and never did drugs though. Also, almost done with my first week at my agency. Doing a lot of mandatory training and paperwork lol.

I had my fingerprinting done the second week of May. Nothing else - background check has not started yet.

They just emailed you telling you to get it done? Was that after you'd graduated and sent your final transcript?

I requested September 25, which they said had been approved by my division.

I am coming in from a clerkship, so I had already graduated when I applied. For the fingerprinting, I received an email from an entirely different email system with instructions on the how to schedule the fingerprinting appointment. It took me a week to get an appointment. And about three weeks after the appointment I followed up with the HR person I had been dealing with... they told me the fingerprinting cleared but no news on when the background check would start.

Ha, I'm not with the IRS, but they haven't told me anything/given me anything past telling me I passed my background check a few weeks ago

Pretty cool and busy. I've been thrown into the fray already. First 2 weeks were slow and a lot of mandatory training. Now I am on 3 active litigation cases doing research and drafting substantive pleadings + working on a lot of labor & employment issues because we are also like an in-house counsel for our office.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
