Received a tentative offer from the IRS via email.
Congrats! For HQ?

As for CFPB, my status is still received, no updates.

Got an interview with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers through OCI. Can somebody tell me what kind of law they do (their online page is very vague) and is the process the same as with the other agencies? Thank you!
Update: received a callback. Was also told they are moving very fast this year.
Update: Had the qualifying interview last week, just now received an email telling me I was selected for their Honors Attorney Program. Now I just wait till all their offices reach out to me for an interview? Is it safe to say that I got the job?

I'm confused. So you received notice that you were selected but you don't know if it's for HQ or a field office?

Congrats btw!

Thank you. USACE since clarified this: I am on a "list" and they will circulate this list through managing people in every office which I indicated as my preferred geographical location. Then if an there is an opening for an attorney position in that office, the office reaches out to people on the "list" for an interview. This means I can still end up without a job in the end lol.

If you go to the applicant portal you can see if you're still in the running

That hiring process they have is too stressful. I hope that you hear from HQ or a field office soon!

Nothing from the non tax for me. My references were called for the tax component on Friday last week. Interviewed the week before. Hoping that leads to an offer sometime soon.

I think probably two, but maybe three (at the most). This is just based on a friend’s experience who went through interviews at both agencies last fall. I’ve had one first round interview and they didn’t seem sure, but it seems like there would be at least one follow up.

Which agency did you have your interview with this cycle?

That’s slightly concerning, my CFPB application still hasn’t budged. I wonder if that’s a soft rejection at this point.

I would say more than slightly. My app still says received, wasn't even referred like I was last year.

I say only slightly because who knows what’s true. We only have second-hand information here from an anonymous source.

The fact that both of our applications are still stuck at received likely means that CFPB is moving slowly. (Or, we are both out of luck.)

Last year, my app was referred approximately 2 weeks or so before interviews started. Personally, I have written CFPB off now that interview requests have gone out and I am still in the "received" status. I look forward to being proven wrong.

Huh, it seems odd that you would be referred last year and not this year. I thought that being referred was an automatic thing if you met the basic requirements.

I thought so as well. So either my app was messed up somehow or they actually have not started interviews yet? FWIW, none of my friends who applied to CFPB have had a change in their status yet either.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
