Movement from any USAOs?

I had multiple interviews with various ones but still shows “selected for interviews” as to all. Does that mean they either haven’t moved or, if they did, I wasn’t selected as a finalist?

When do you guys think alternates might begin to be contacted? Maybe mid-to-late next week for offices that issued offers mid-to-late last week? Does anyone know if regrets messages go out for individual offices when they finish hiring or only when the full component finishes hiring? For instance, if I’m waiting as an alternate for a particular branch in the civil division, am I going to be left waiting until the entire civil division finishes hiring or just until that particular branch finishes hiring?

No idea. A lot of us are still sitting on "Selected for Interview" and don't know whether that means we're out of the running or the components we interviewed with still haven't finished selecting finalists yet.

Based on prior announcements in the Community forum, I believe the branches independently complete their hiring. It looks like OARM sends "regret" emails once they're notified that the specific branch met its hiring needs. If I recall correctly, folks get about 2 weeks to respond to an offer, so that means alternates can expect follow up by maybe mid-December. However, this assumes first-round candidates get offers sometime this week or next week, AND those candidates decline their offers. It could be longer than that. I haven't heard of many applicants receiving their finalist designations, much less an offer. It's just frustrating overall.

Yeah, I have questions about alternates for one component and, like you, questions about whether finalists have been designated for another component. It’s definitely a little frustrating that there are fewer updates from DOJ this year than in previous years. Deana definitely deserves a break! But it’d be nice if they had someone else post component specific updates like they have in the past if she’s unavailable. Overall, I just feel like I have lots of questions lol

This makes sense. I guess I was thinking of alternates potentially being contacted late next week for those components that issued first-round offers by the end of last week.

Do you know how the offers were made? Phone call or email? Also do the specific courts make offers or HQ?

I'm the original poster, just updating that I also still haven't heard about finalist status for UST (status is still "selected for interview"), but 2 of my references were checked around Nov. 10.

I read on Reddit that they are calling first, then emailing.

I'm in the exact same boat as you. I haven't heard of any USAO movement.

If someone out there has gotten a "finalist" designation for a USAO office, can you let us know?

Someone posted on reddit this morning that they are a finalist for UST.

Some ENRD offers have gone out.

Does anyone know if ENRD offers are likely to convert to long-term positions, or are they limited to 2-3 years?

I was a finalist for the DC and AZ offices. I am turning down both offers, so I am hoping someone here will hear from them soon!

From the webpage that lists the honors program participating components: “ The Environment and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) offers permanent positions in Washington, D.C.”

Yeah. I’m waiting for an update, and hoping for some good news this week. I just got rejected from a couple different (non government) positions I was really excited about, and I’m just feeling pretty down now.

Abandon hope, all ye who unroll the spoiler.
[+] Spoiler
I didn't have finalist listed for anything as of Thanksgiving weekend. Contacted my interviewers for status updates, and they responded Saturday, Sunday, and today. Rejections across the board.

Based on that, I'm guessing finalists were actually notified before Thanksgiving week like Deana said they would be. Sorry, all.

Maybe do not despair.. Reached out to one of my components. They are still in the selection and reference check stage.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
