Class of 2022 District Attorney Thread
Since most applications have now opened, figured I would start the thread. Applying NYC + Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk. Have first round with Manhattan scheduled, but nothing else. Feel free to most on DA offices throughout the country!

Which NYC office is best? I heard it’s Queens and Manhattan but Manhattan has gone super liberal.
Also, does anyone know how many people on average apply to these offices each year?

Adding that I sent apps to the NYC and Long Island offices.
I interviewed at Suffolk and Nassau and was told that both offices are working to speed up the hiring process.

Anyone know if there are NYC area DA offices that are particularly remote work friendly? Like for appellate work, perhaps?

congratulations on your screener at DANY. I wonder when's the best time to apply there, given the dynasty change in January (?).
To be blunt, is Bragg going to fire the entire executive team?

OP here. I don’t know the answer to your question re: firing the whole executive staff, but I would think Bragg will bring in his own staff and a lot of people will voluntarily leave. That said, HR people I have spoken to said that they have been in contact with the “likely winner” who said they will honor the 2022 hires made already.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 4:50 amcongratulations on your screener at DANY. Manhattan DA's appellate is in the same boat as trial, i.e. everyone is in-office full time, per the city employee policy.littlekidlover wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 1:19 pmAnyone know if there are NYC area DA offices that are particularly remote work friendly? Like for appellate work, perhaps?

Can anybody talk about if a history of smoking weed once a long time ago is a disqualifier to become an ADA? I'm guessing the rule are different based on each state, but I still want to know what's it like out there.
