Figured I'd get this started for this year. Got a screener request for the DoL's program today.

Anyone else have any updates? It might be a little early, but w/e

I am in the same boat - received a request to interview from DOL. I am two years into a clerkship, so I’m hopeful this will work out!

Interview scheduled for next week. Does anyone know if this is a screener or does DOL have more than one interview? I wonder why they’re interviewing before the application closes.

Just went through the screener today - they said that they'll cull the list down to a group of finalists in November-ish, so it sounds like there would be another round of interviews in a few months.

On another note, what are people's thoughts on thank-you notes for these? It sounds like some agencies are interviewing a lot of people, so I'm wondering if thank-yous should be sent.

They actually told me during my interview that it was the only one for the National office. If you are a finalist with a regional office you may have another interview though.

Got an interview with DOT. I assume it's still pretty early in the process though just from looking at previous years' threads.

For those who got DOL interviews, did you meet the GPA req. of 3.5? Just curious if this cutoff is taken seriously.

For those of you guys who got an interview with DOL how long did it take from application to interview request? I applied in late August and was "referred for further consideration" but want to check if I should give up hope.

FWIW, they won't schedule interviews until the application closing date has passed, and it looks like the application closed yesterday. So I have no idea what your shot actually is, but you almost certainly haven't been ruled out yet. Fedgov just doesn't schedule interviews until after all the apps are in.

Yeah, that's not always true. I applied to DoL the weekend after apps opened, and I had an interview in mid-August (I tried to interview through my school's 3L "OCI," but I got booted at the last second too lol)

Yeah, but I would guess it isn't a hard cutoff

Same, didn't get any info on when second round interviews may be though. The interviewer did note that she was a regional interviewer/recruiter, which aligns with years past (if that helps anyone)

Oops, well, I shouldn’t have been so decisive. I’m quite sure from what the interviewers said that they were doing all the interviews in one fell swoop. But they could have changed the process since then. Also, I was applying out of a clerkship so couldn’t submit through OCI, so that may have made a difference too.

This isn’t true. I applied in July and was interviewed in August. I met the 3.5 GPA cut off.

I’m in a clerkship. The interview was over zoom roughly a month after I initially applied.

Yeah, but the first interview wasn't through OCI. I tried to do a second one through OCI, as the interviewers told me that they give the same questions each time.

My interview was a video interview on teams. I applied in July and was interviewed in August. I did not do OCI or anything like that because I’m in my second year of a clerkship.

I'm the person who asked if hope was lost if I applied in August and hadn't heard back yet. They ended up emailing me for an interview! It was about a month from application to interview selection.

Has anyone heard from CFPB or IRS?

I had a first-round OCI IRS interview in August. I received an email on September 23 stating my app was under review by HR. The only other info I have is that second-round interviews are at the end of October.

CFP still says "Application Received."

CFPB sent me an email this morning saying that my application was referred to the "hiring manager". If you follow the link to check the status from the USAJobs dashboard you'll be redirected to the CFPB site where you might have an update.

Yeah, I got a similar message this morning.

Has anyone else heard anything from any honors programs besides DOT, DOL, or IRS in the past couple of weeks?

I had a screener with the OCC about a month ago (non-oci) and haven’t heard much yet. Reached out to interviewer who told me decision on second round interviews should be done by mid October

I had an interview with NSA last week. They told me I would hear back in 3 weeks regarding final round interviews.
