So, I reached out to a regional office I interviewed with (I also interviewed around late-Feb/early March) last week, and they indicated that they do NOT know when/if they will make an offer due to budget concerns. That's why I think things may have shifted a little bit in terms of their initial predictions.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 10:37 amWhen I interviewed in mid march at a regional office, they indicated they hoped to make offers in early April.

I got a notice of referral for the SEC Honors program yesterday, but no word on an interview. Has anyone been contacted for an interview yet? If so, which division?

I know a couple of people who have gotten interviews with SEC for regional positions, but they didn't tell me which regions.

WOW it's really unbelievable how some regions are still interviewing. I have taken another offer and I'm dipping out from this waiting game. It's already April and 3Ls are graduating in a month, and I can't believe how slow things are.
We applied back in November, and interviews are still on-going as of April? Good luck to everyone who is waiting. Hopefully you will hear good news soon.

I’ve gotta be honest. How do they expect any of us to wait around for this? Bar registration is this month in a lot of states. I’d imagine plenty of people applied to different regions some that are in UBE states some that arent. What does the NLRB expect us to do?

Re: Honors Attorney Program 2021-2022 (non-DOJ)
Decided to come on here and post. I was on the phone from someone from the SEC as "accepted into the Chair's Attorney Honors Program." Since the phone calls, I've been all over the internet looking for information about reviews working for the agency and if people love it or not. Low-ranked law school, love my school, wouldn't change it for the world. Low grades...just being honest--law school was pretty stressful for me. I'll be graduating in May though. I applied for various positions through the government, non-government, non-JD positions, entry-level positions at companies (think Allstate), AG's office, and more. I have extensive background experience as a manager and professional. I have goals of being a well-rounded attorney of value. No specific field...just following through on my goal to help more people.
I didn't think because of my grades that I'd even be considered for any of these programs. I applied as a Hail Mary on the last day. Last week I spoke for an hour on the phone with someone from SEC. Talk about floored. I just want to see a firm offer from HR though.
This is a dream for me. Any questions, I'll try to answer while still being purposely vague.

I actually just looked into this and I don’t think they care where you’re barred (small consolation)Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 11:08 pmI’ve gotta be honest. I know of at least one offer that went out last week from HQ. No idea what’s going on with regions.

Could you say what location and what division you will be working in? Will you be in enforcement? Or do people not get assigned a division until after they've been brought on?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 11:48 pmDecided to come on here and post. What I can say is the people I have spoken to have alluded to the fact that I am working in one office and one office only. Nothing is final…at this point I am just holding out until I receive something super official…maybe instructions for fingerprints or a background check. I know how these things can go sometime.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Apr 06, 2022 3:44 pmCould you say what location and what division you will be working in? Will you be in enforcement? It is a regional office, but I won’t speak on location. Hope you understand.

Team, I'm officially taking a different job. This NLRB wait is not just annoying, it's straight up disrespectful. Dragging us along for 5 full months with no updates at all? No thanks. Best of luck to you all remaining in consideration. I am emailing the regions where I applied to retract my application.

Re: Honors Attorney Program 2021-2022 (non-DOJ)
I'm the previous anon who said I'm taking another job too. I agree with you it's gotten to the point of being disrespectful bc/ they are not giving us any updates unless we individually reach out and clearly there is no centralized system of handling things so everyone's getting somewhat different answers. I respect your (and mine I guess lol) decision to pull out, and if NLRB is your dream job, you can always try to lateral into the job. I feel like that might almost be easier practically and psychologically since you can be working while you are applying for the job and just wait for the right timing to transition. At this point, we have to move on and start a legal career. We can't forever wait on something that might or might not happen. I don't know about you but I feel like my entire body system rejuvenated after I took another offer and stopped waiting around for an answer. I hope you will feel good about your decision as well. Again, best of luck to those who are still waiting. I hope they will turn around with an answer soon.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 07, 2022 10:41 amTeam, I'm officially taking a different job. Are the anon posters above saying they never heard anything at all? No updates, no phone calls or emails? Does this differ from the anon poster who was on the phone with the SEC person?

I also just pulled my application with the Board and took a firm offer. What a relief. For those of you on edge about doing so, just pull trig and enjoy the wave of joy yielded by actual security.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
