All,

The IRS reached out to me yesterday with an offer to work in one of their field offices. Accordingly, I think many of you can expect to start hearing back soon.

To all, best.
Which division? I am still waiting to hear from P&A at the National Office. Also did they call your references?
As for which division, SB/SE. As for references, neither of my references contacted me telling me that the IRS had reached out to them. So, I'm uncertain. But to be fair, I applied last year as well and both my references were contacted then by phone. Still, I would think they would have contacted them again for this year.

And anecdotally, I've heard it can take longer to hear back from the National Office. Weigh that worth as you will. I haven't used this website much, but feel free to send me a private message and we can correspond there. I will be accepting my offer this afternoon and might have more information then.

Did everyone who made second-round interviews for DOT get a request for third-round? Not sure if they've been weeding people out along the way or if they're using the third-round interview as a follow-up. Getting antsy, so just wondering what everyone else's experience has been.

This is similar to what I have heard as well. If I can figure out how to send a private message, I will do so later this afternoon (EST).

Congratulations!

Has anyone heard back from the OCC since the second interview?
I have not. Interview was 2+ weeks ago and they haven’t asked for references, so I’m getting pessimistic.
Mind letting me know if you hear anything, and I’ll do the same?

Yes, I’ll be posting here either way. Hopefully we’ll both be announcing offers (or, at least, requests for references) soon.

I posted last week that I hadn't heard back about a 3rd round interview yet, and I still haven't. I thought that I did very well in both interviews and even had personal connections with each of them, so I'm not sure if I misjudged and am out of the running or if they are still deciding who to extend the 3rd round offers to. My 2nd rounds were 10/14 and 10/22.

Yes! Offices to rank are:
Washington, DC National Office

Boston Regional Office

Chicago Regional Office

Dallas Regional Office

Western Region: Los Angeles, Seattle, or San Francisco
Did the email come from DOL or USA staffing?

Also, congratulations!
PS. I am assuming you told the interviewers you were willing to relocate bc that's quite a spread.
It came from DOL directly! And no, I was always clear about to location constraints - I assume everyone just has to rank them again now haha
Cool. My panel said they were recommending me to the National Office. That was the last I heard from them.

Good luck!
One more quick question—sorry!—what type of questions did they ask you during your interview? Typical fed govt questions or more about you personally?
It was typical fed gov questions (so mostly standard behavioral stuff) but they ended with “is there something on your resume we haven’t covered that you want to make sure we get to” which was a bit more free flowing. They had separate questions about the National office and the regional offices (I’m interested in both) so it was helpful to know what they both do, how they differ, why specific interest in a location. Hope that helps!
Have you had any progress since this email?

Same here. I was told "around Thanksgiving" so I'll be refreshing my email every three seconds all of next week.

Do we know how many people got third round interviews? Trying to judge my odds of getting selected, but not sure if everyone who got a second round interview also got a third round. Also, good luck to everyone! This limbo period of waiting to find out is brutal.

Any status change on Usajobs? Or does it still say referred for further consideration?

I tried reaching out to the Office for a status update and no response
