Has anyone heard anything from the SEC or CFPB? I know the SEC is still accepting applications so they might not have started extending interviews yet, but CFPB was due a long time ago. USAjobs still says "Referred".. But then again FDIC says something similar and I was notified I was out of the running there over a month ago.
Did you interview with CFPB? If not, then, like myself, you didn't make the cut. I don't think SEC started interviewing yet but could be wrong because FINRA sent invitations to interview by email last week

Yes, at least some divisions in the CFPB started interviewing in October. I believe they had two rounds of interview, but I don't know if offers went out for some or all.

As for the SEC, I assume you don't mean the current posting for Chair's Honors? That closes on Friday.

I heard that this was the first time in several cycles the SEC Chair' Honors opened to applicants. Is that accurate?

Previous poster here-- I'm not sure, actually. I was forwarded the announcement by a friend. But I think I've seen people say that around here. I think quite a few Honors Attorney programs have been frozen over recent years.

Okay maybe not technically Honors but...

Does anyone know anything about the FTC's recent posting of an entry-level term position (apparently 14 months to 4 years)? Hadn't seen that before.

Anyone hear from DOT?
I received an offer from the DOT on 12/8/21.

Did you accept the offer?
No, I rejected the offer on 12/15.

I guess I'm out for CFPB then since I haven't heard anything at all yet.. For SEC, yes, I meant the current apps. Plenty of agencies review on a rolling basis, rather than waiting on all apps to come in, so that's what I was wondering--if they had started yet. Because I applied pretty early (a few days after apps opened), so if it were rolling I might be out of luck by now.

Yes, I posted in a different thread that my securities regulation professor spoke with someone pretty high up who informed him last fall that the program was "discontinued".. evidently they were able to get new funding with the new administration (as an aside, which is probably also why the FAA is hiring a bunch of entry level attorneys currently.. Buttigieg got a lot of new funding recently, and the FAA doesn't have their own separate honors program beyond the DOT rotation program).

That's because the FTC hasn't really done it before. It's not clear to anyone what these term positions will entail. The agency is extraordinarily busy and it's not clear if this is a makeshift way of bringing in contract attorneys or if they're going to be treated like "normal" staff attorneys. The scuttlebutt is that this was driven by political leadership rather than the career staff, so it's not clear if there is any actual plan.

Hi all. Providing a few data points.

Applied to DOL SOL (both regional and national) the day before the second deadline (Nov. 12). Was offered an interview via email on 1-6; interviewed on 1-12. The interview was for both the regional and national positions - two interviewers and different questions for each position. I was told there is only one interview for the national office, but that regional offices might reach out for a second interview.

Today (1-20) I received an email asking me to confirm whether I was interested in a position in the national office, to which I replied yes. Has anyone else received an email like this? It was a bit vague so I clarified that I am also interested in regional positions, but a bit more interested in the national office.

Also applied to NLRB (DC and regional offices) on 11-11 but have not heard anything yet.

Applied to FLRA yesterday (1/18).

Sorry for double posting! I didn't realize it had to be reviewed by a mod first and thought the first one didn't go through. Also have no idea how to delete :)

In past years, this email has been taken as meaning you are a finalist for DOL Honors. However, like DOJ, you could be a finalist but an alternate. Meaning you may get an offer soon or your offer may be dependent on someone else declining. Either way, it’s a huge win for you so congrats!!

I also applied to NLRB on 10/30 for National and three regional offices. I emailed them to withdraw my app (received a different honors position) but never heard back and my app still says received.

I applied to NLRB regional offices only on 11/5/21 and have yet to hear back.

I applied to the SEC regional offices on 12/14/21 and also haven't heard back beyond on email telling me what tentative grade I would be.

Both still say reviewing applications.

Didn't SEC apps just close last Friday? I received an email two days ago saying that mine was being processed and I was eligible for the grade I requested.

Same anon above and yep they just closed last Friday. I thought they might move a bit faster because FINRA honors is interviewing now and I imagine there is overlap of candidates but who knows

Same anon who posted the question you replied to here. I interviewed at FINRA earlier this week and they were cognizant of this overlap, and seem to be trying to move quickly into their second interviews.

Just posting another data point here. I applied for the San Francisco NLRB Region on October 29th, and I have not heard anything yet. Any other NLRB people have data points to share? This is ridiculous that we are already two full months past the closing date, and nobody has received even interview offers, it seems.

Has anyone here interviewed with FINRA? If so, when did you have your first interview, and have you heard anything about the second interview?

TIA

I heard back from FINRA about a second interview quickly after my first and have already had my second interview. I believe there will be a third if my second went well. Anyone else have data on finra?
