Did anyone else apply to the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection opening that closed in April? Got an email about 2 weeks ago saying I was referred, but haven't heard anything since. Has anyone been contacted about an interview?

Also interested if anyone has any insight they would like to share based on prior experience applying for / interviewing with the BCP. Thank you!

At least some of the divisions have started interviewing. I wouldn't be worrying yet if you haven't been contacted. The process seems to have just begun.

Yes! I applied for all available locations though and was referred to all, and today was the first I heard from one. Excited to hear at all but still hopeful I could hear from more.

I just finished my externship with the BCP. They are entirely remote for the summer, so the program was probably limited in more ways than we know. For one, they processed my onboarding documents very late, so my start date was delayed by a couple of weeks. But working with staff attorneys was interesting! A lot of my time was spent just being near the computer in case they needed me for something, but the assignments were thrilling when they did come! Federal court docs & investigative research. I recommend it, especially when they are back in the office.

I went through multiple rounds of interviews with two divisions in June. No word since then. I got the impression that they were looking to move quickly, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

thanks for the reply--similar situation here, although one of the divisions asked for a list of references after the last interview round, but that was a couple of weeks ago, so ... ?
