Anyone also get asked for references from DHS OGC before interviewing?

Different person here- mine is also tomorrow for second round DHS-OGC. They seem to be moving quickly.

They told me during my first interview too that they wouldn't notify people if you weren't selected until the new year after individuals accepted. They said if you got the position you'd know by mid December.

When are they scheduling your 2nd rounds for? DHS and ICE told me they would not be telling you if you did not make it, until after everyone was selected and accepted. So just trying to figure it out on my own timelime. My assumption would be if you don't hear by this Friday, it's a no. But just wanted to see when interviews were.

My second DHS OGC interview is tomorrow!
They told me middle of December too! I guess I'm just confused since the Secretary Honors Program site says "OGC will notify successful applicants on or around November 25, 2020." So I wonder if this week's interviewees are first-choice applicants and next weeks are alternates and maybe they'll issue offers to those people next week and give them two weeks, and then mid-December reach out to alternates depending on who turns down the offer? I definitely can be reading too much into it though!

What do you all think?
I wouldn't pay much attention to the dates on the website. Everything is moving slower because of Covid. My 2nd round interview isn't until Dec. 1. Good luck to everyone!

Does anyone know how many people DHS is aiming to hire?
Is this the same for OPLA?
DHS is hiring 3 people. I just had my 2nd round interview with DHS and OPLA combined. Said I should hear back early-mid December

Also was told that I would hear back mid-December.

I wonder how many of us are left competing for those 3 spots. I was assuming 10-15, but it seems like there may be a lot more than that.

Right, I had my second round interview last week. Just by context, it seemed that my interviewers had already done several. Then someone on here mentioned having it scheduled in 2 weeks. Makes you think there are a ton of us being considered.

Was your interview last week for DHS-OGC? Or ICE OPLA?

2nd Round ICE interview was straightforward, friendly, and relaxed. Definitely not what I was expecting. I assume they're hiring more than OGC simply to meet demand.

Any ideas when offers will be made? I’m hoping early December in line with other programs.

They were pretty vague when I asked in my interview.

Did anyone else also apply for DOJ Honors? If so, were you designated a finalist too?

Congrats to the Anon who was offered DOJ component positions. Hopefully, for the sake of the rest of us, you take one of those and leave a spot open for us here 8)

lmfao thanks! I would not worry about me. After the absolute train wreck that was my second-round interview, I would be SHOCKED if I got a DHS-OGC offer and even more shocked if I accepted. Maybe I just misunderstood the responses I was getting, but I suspect that wearing my ESFJ personality on my sleeve did NOT sit well with that particular crowd.
