I did rank the SW/the border, yep, and said I was flexible.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 3:34 pmWow, that sounds confusing. I think its odd that the Honors Program would refer your application to Eloy for a non-honors position. But, the more folks that see your application the better I suppose! Just curious, did you rank the Southwest in your preferences?hoyalawya21 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 2:14 pmI just had that interview with Eloy, to be honest I'm more confused than before. They said their team is looking to find people due to high attrition even though they have no vacancies atm. From my understanding it sounds like it isn't even part of the Honors program, and they also said if you don't hear from us into the spring, email us your application materials and we'll let you know if there is a vacancy. ?? Hoping I'm still in the running for the actual Honors program.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 12:56 pmI only applied to OGC. My second round interview for OGC was with the deputy GC and the acting GC. OGC told me they'd have decisions by mid-december.
Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 12:19 pmMy second round was combined with OGC and ICE, so I am in the same boat, except no call from an ICE office. I remember one of my interviewers mentioning that it is possible that one more interview may be conducted with OGC's chief of staff? It was a few weeks ago so I can't really elaborate more.

Was there only 3 positions for DHS overall or only for OGC? Aren't there positions in other components/divisions?

I also received and accepted the offer from OGC; and yes, the call was from a DC number. Sorry to be number 3; hopefully they were able to bring in more for those still looking.

There were only 3 for OGC. There may be more for ICE, but unsure.

I got a call and then they sent the paperwork over email after the call. The call was from Dallas, I guess they have some hub there. I'd rather not say the office until I officially accept haha. I am superstitious.

I got an offer from ICE OPLA's Arlington, VA office. The call came from a DC number and I received an email with an "Unofficial Tentative Job Offer."

EOIR was York, PA. OPLA was Harlington, TX.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 4:55 pmMe, too. If you don’t mind sharing, what made you decide EOIR over OPLA?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 4:50 pmJust received OPLA offer phone call. I am declining it to accept a position with EOIR through DoJ honors.

Figured a clerkship couldn't hurt, and location/pay are both better in PA. So take a year and reapply to various honors programs with a bit of experience and maybe a better writing sample.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Dec 22, 2020 12:53 amIf you don’t mind sharing, what made you decide EOIR over OPLA?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Dec 21, 2020 4:50 pmJust received OPLA offer phone call.
