Honors Attorney Program 2020-2021 (non-DOJ)

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Sep 09, 2020 6:08 pm

I thought I'd get this thread started for this app cycle.

I can confirm that Department of Transportation has been doing first round interviews.

Does anyone have updates from other programs?

Few weeks ago my application through USA jobs was referred for the DOL Honors Program. Just received an email to interview today!

I applied to a couple of the intel agencies' honors programs. I'm familiar with DOJ's tentative timeline--they typically like to wrap up interviews by November, but I have absolutely no idea how NSA/CIA work.

Any insight from someone more knowledgable? Anyone else apply?

Hi all, can anyone speak to the DOL interviewing process? I've heard that they only interview candidates one time, but I can't really seem to confirm that anywhere. I interviewed back in August through a recruiting program at my school but also had to apply through USAJobs. My USAJobs status is "referred", but I'm dumb and didn't think to check whether that change reflected my initial selection for the "screener" interview or whether I got referred *after* the interview. For those of you who received emails to interview, did you participate in campus recruiting or apply directly through USAJobs? Feels wild to have done one half-hour interview one time in August and then just....sit and wait 'til November...

At least when I went through the process (I wasn’t hired), it was one interview and done, but I also was interviewed after applying through USAjobs. I’m also not certain if there’s any difference between regional offices and DC, though. And frankly it’s not likely to be November - DOL always aims for early December and almost always takes longer.

Received a DOL interview a week ago. I applied July 31. I graduated in may and am currently clerking so I just had applied on USAJobs.

Had an interview with the IRS Honors program this week. Think it went as well as it could've for someone that got a B in Tax I and took Tax II p/f in COVID, lol. They said second rounders will be sent out in about a month or so.

Has anyone heard back from the DHS Honors Attorney Program? I've applied to several honors programs but am curious to know if there's a timeline for DHS interviews.

I don't know if this will help you figure anything out, but I also interviewed in August after submitting my application through USAJobs. After I scheduled my interview, I checked my status and it said "referred" - almost a month later, it still says referred. I'm right there with you though.

Very weird. It just seems bizarre that my school would have this recruiting program and bill it as a screener process if that isn't the case, which is obviously more of an internal failing than an error on the DOL's part...good luck to you either way!

Checking in! I've had first rounds with DOL and DOT at this point. DOL went better than DOT, I think - my DOT interviewer didn't seem all that impressed with me.

Re: DOL Honors hiring process, my understanding is that there are two rounds of interviews for both the main office and regional office hiring paths.

As of this morning, moved to "Referred" for both HQ and Regional Office DoL app. Interviewed at OCI early September.

I interviewed for DOL Honors National Office through our OCI in August and was told to apply through USAJobs. My status has stayed at "Referred" since applying. I asked in the interview what the process is moving forward, and they told me that there are usually two interviews (at least for the National Office).

Did anyone apply to CFPB? My USAJobs status says "Reviewed." Does that mean they took a look at my app and decided not to refer me? Anyone have "Referred" for their CFPB status?

Taken straight from the help center, it looks like you're in limbo where it could go either way. The app has definitely been looked at which hey is something. Every agency does it differently. I've seen it go reviewed-referred or just received-referred.

Received

The hiring agency has received your job application.

Reviewed

The hiring agency has reviewed your job application, but has not yet determined if you’re qualified.

Referred

Your application is among the best qualified and is referred to the next step in the selection process.

Not Referred

Your application is not among the best qualified and has not been referred to the next step in the selection processes.

I had "Reviewed" for a little while and then it changed to "Not Referred" today :(

Anyone know what the entry-level pay grade is for the SEC Attorneys Honors Program?

I had an interview through my schools OCI in August as well (for the National Office) and my interviewers let me know that there is only one interview and that decisions would be made in November at the earliest.
