For those following Los Angeles, they are finally proceeding with final round interviews after putting the applicants on hold for over a year. I got an email yesterday.

If anyone wants to get a group chat going (on whatever platform) for incoming Cook County ASAs, PM me. Or if one already exists I would appreciate an invite haha.

Any update from the final round of LA interviews? Trying to gauge whether LADA will be hiring this winter. . .Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 1:20 pmFor those following Los Angeles, they are finally proceeding with final round interviews after putting the applicants on hold for over a year. I'm the anon from above. About two weeks after the interview, I got another email that said something like the county is still on a hiring freeze and they can't proceed until they've been granted an "exemption" (basically the same thing they've been telling us for over a year now). I'm not sure why they even bothered to call us back for interviews only to tell us they still can't hire anyone.MeanieTeanie wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 12:24 pmAny update from the final round of LA interviews? What was your final round for Suffolk like? Was it a fit interview or did you get hypos as well?
Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 5:51 pmAnyone get an offer or rejection from Suffolk (NY)? I had my final round before the holidays and I have been told that my application is still pending! So so stressed.
Also, does Brooklyn just not send out rejections? I have literally heard nothing since I applied in Sept. and any emails I've sent haven't received any replies. That was my top choice.
PS, those curious about LA: back in May they were hit with a hiring freeze and they said it would likely last 2 years (similarly to other LA county offices). I checked in again in December and they said the freeze was still in effect for fall 2021 positions (and they do their hiring starting in Jan anyway- no fall class hiring occurs). They do still have unpaid internships if you wind up unemployed and want the experience, not sure how it changes things to be a post bar law clerk though. It used to be that you would be paid as a post bar and then get hired and that was the best way to get hired fresh out of law school.
