District Attorney's Offices 2021

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Aug 21, 2020 4:35 pm

Figured I'd start a new thread for the upcoming cycle, even with things looking unsettled based on last cycle.

I've applied to Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Suffolk (MA), Philly, and Cook (IL) thus far. My initial interview for Manhattan is scheduled for September and that's the only movement I've had.

Does anyone know if Queens has a live application yet? I emailed someone in their recruiting department and haven't heard back.

Does anyone know how Mecklenburg (NC) hiring generally goes? It looks like they hire 3Ls but not a whole lot of details on their website.

I've heard from a source that knows that Maryland is lifting its hiring freeze very soon and the SA offices will be hiring.

Has anyone had any movement from the NYC offices beyond the first interview? Or are things just moving slowly this year?

Just a first round interview with Manhattan here, but that was a while ago. I'm getting mildly concerned at this point though even granting that hiring will be different and probably slower this year.

Yesterday Queens sent me an email saying my application is "still under review", I'm assuming this means that I was not in the first round of interview selections?

I got the same email, it's either that or they haven't done any interviews yet and are sick of people emailing for status updates.

I interviewed with Queens (OCI), and I did not get an "under review" email.

Yeah, I got that same email. I wanted to assume that they may be figuring out when they were going to schedule the first-round interviews. I figured hiring would be very weird considering the economy and pandemic.

How long after you applied did you first hear back from them?

Anyone else feeling a little ghosted at the moment? I'm getting a little worried that I've only had 2 initial interviews and no subsequent interviews out of 8 offices I've applied to.

Definitely feeling a little ghosted too lol so tired of feeling anxiety every time I check my email! Had 1st round interview with Manhattan and 2nd round interview with Brooklyn (bypassed first round) in mid-Oct. Haven't heard anything back yet yet, but fingers crossed there's some news soon!
