Anyone still considering OIL-DC and not sure yet on a decision? I am a finalist for them (hoping for an offer) and my window of opportunity for the BIA offer is closing this week.

Here is what I got back from HR this morning:

The Civil Division personnel security office is working on getting the background investigations initiated in eQIP. Let me know if you do not receive anything by this time next week.

Hope that helps.

Just got the rejection letter. I am in the running for a second clerkship. Does anyone know if you can reapply to HP if you toll your eligibility? I'd like to try again if I have the opportunity to continue clerking.

I applied last year as a 3L, and am going into the BIA after applying again this year. Keep up the hope!

Super dumb question probably, but for anyone who as started the paperwork, on OARM 24 (the tax form), the email says sign it. The form itself just says "name" and "date." So if anyone knows what to do there, that'd be really helpful.

I am wondering the same thing. Any new OCIJ offers being rolled out?

Also for those who accepted an OCIJ offer--what cities were you placed in?

Anyone else who has submitted all their background forms, think this is somehow the worst part? Anxiously waiting to hear that people have been called and then a "hey you passed?" Nothing remarkable in my background but still anxiety inducing.

Same here. I keep thinking there must be a typo somewhere in my eqip and they are going to rescind my offer.

Last year EOIR had us do eqips in June not February. So get used to the bureaucracy of this is going to take awhile. I passed my background check over a month after starting work.

I won't say the component for the sake of anonymity, but the interviewer was local FBI. I think all of DOJ outsources the background interview that way---to local FBI.

I got non-selected for some mysterious reason that no one will share. Personnel security office said they cleared me and were shocked it didn’t go through; component itself will not answer phones or email. I’ve just been admitted to practice, which involves intensive background check, and had prior federal clearance.
To whoever got my spot, you’re welcome🤷🏼‍♀️

Have any EOIR people had their FBI interview and/or had their references contacted?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
