I'm trying to accept my BIA offer and I can't get ahold of a human or get an email answered to save my life... Anyone else have this problem?

Seems like some ENRD offers already went out -- has anyone had a second-round offer or rejection notice?

About to accept a position with OCIJ. Excited and terrified. Weirdly afraid of background check because I didn't file two tax returns since I made like $2,000 those two years.

Don't be afraid. I was in a similar situation and passed the background check; I went straight through to law school and the past 7 years included college part time employment. They give you an opportunity to explain on the forms.

Admittedly neurotic, but did anyone who accepted an OCIJ offer get a reply email?

I think they’re all out of office, between the holidays and COVID. I had a heck of a time getting my paperwork to even accept.

Great. Well I'm sure I'll be on the phone the next two days since I'm supposed to decide by Friday.

For anyone who has accepted an offer, did you get sent paperwork or anything after?

Just got a BIA offer on the phone. She said I was the last one she was calling for today but will be back next week.

My component told me to complete in 30 days, but it might be different for different components. Regardless, they said the earlier the better so they can get started. That probably applies to all components.

For those who have accepted offers -- any idea when we get access to e-QIP/when we've got to complete all the background paperwork. I've accepted a position in Civil and got an email requesing info to get the process rolling, but I wasn't sure when we would actually complete it.
I reached out to the HR specialist in CIV who originally reached out to me cause I convinced myself I had missed the eqip email and she said this morning that we should be receiving emails with eqip instructions in the next two weeks.

Is the DHS-NYC OPLA position longer term than the BIA 2-year clerkship?

Checking in to see if anyone who has accepted EOIR-OCIJ has been given their background paperwork to start and/or the “formal offer letter”

Not yet. My Avue status still says offer issued.

It would have been permanent. I just rejected it though, because I can’t justify moving to NYC in the middle of a pandemic.

BIA, hands down. BIA is the tougher position to land, and you'll have no problem getting another offer from OPLA after clerking at the BIA. You'll also have the benefit of having worked on immigration issues from a neutral perspective first, which I firmly believe makes people more well-rounded advocates.

That's pretty standard for EOIR HR, tbh.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
