Do state AG offices typically ask about past drug use when applying for an internship? Wondering about Mass. and NJ in particular.

My office did not. I've applied to several and was never asked, but have no experience with NJ or MA. Practically speaking, they'll only find out if you tell them or if you are drug tested. I don't imagine they go probing beyond very basic questions of your references. Certainly nothing like the federal OPM background check.
