When was your one reference checked?

Has anyone been listed as a finalist yet? If so, what component?

I just noticed that my status on AVUE had changed back from closed (which its been for a few weeks since by interview), back to "Selected for interview". Not sure if that means anything or not.

The status either says "closed" or "selected for interview" depending on what page of avue you are looking at. If you see closed and then click on link under Announcement it will ask you to log in and then you will see it say selected for interview.

How did you all handle thank you notes? I didn’t receive any of my interviewers’ names in advance or a business card after, and I interviewed with several people. Remembered some of their names but not others. Ended up not sending thank you notes, but I’m not sure if they were expected.

I asked for business cards, which is how I was able to send thank you notes, but I think it's understandable to not send thank you notes if they never gave you a business card.

I emailed my scheduler/contact point as soon as I got home (interviewed for ICF on 10/28). She provided me with all the names and addresses of my interviewers.

I sent emails to my interviewers within 24 hours. I figured hand written would probably not get to them in time. Most DOJ emails are in the similar format:

Firstname.MiddleInitial.lastname@USDOJ.gov

Some of the interviewers I interviewed with have offices in big regions they cover so I figured a written one would lose its effect if it took long to get to them. I agree with above anon as in thank you letters would not be expected as most of the individuals did not have cards on them at the time of interview.

I wouldn’t stress about things like thank you notes, especially if you weren’t given contact information.

I know some posters’ CRT references were checked a couple weeks ago. I don’t think mine have been contacted yet. Is anyone who interviewed with CRT in the same boat? Or, have any been checked more recently (like this week)?

I wouldn't get too caught up on this. In the unlikely scenario that any of your interviewers expected a thank you note, they probably wrote and submitted their report on you to the hiring committee before you even got back home and got the chance to shoot them an email.

Mine also haven't been checked as of yesterday. Interviewed the first week. Doesn't seem like a great sign but looks like we'll find out one way or the other when finalists come out in the next week or so.

2/3 of my references have been out this whole week, and I am growing a bit concerned now. I’m debating contacting my component and providing additional references.

Applying to one of the larger sections. Several of my references were checked recently. Noticed a spike in my linkedin views too, although can't confirm where they came from.

If there is good news, I feel like it should have come at the end of this past week (11/15) or will come early this coming week (11/18).

Per the avue website and the updates from Deana, the deadline for designating finalists is this coming Friday (11/22).

Good luck everyone.

Has anyone status changed to finalist?/Does anyone know if Deana will keep with past year routine and post on the Community board when finalists are up for components?

Based on past years, it seems components wait until the deadline to supply their list of finalists. I suspect we will hear closer to Wed, Thurs, and Fri this week, but that is all speculation.

Anyways, best of luck!

Answered my own question. In one of Deana's earlier post, she stated, "I will post updates on the Community Board when a specific component posts its finalists for those who wish to monitor our progress." Since she hasn't posted any updates for component as of yet, it seems to suggest that finalists have not yet been released.

How soon are offers supposed to go out after designation of finalists? I have a job interview on Friday, but would rather have an Honors Program position!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
