Update: had my final interview with Brooklyn about two weeks ago. At that interview I was offered and accepted a position.
Congratulations! Was it your third interview or fourth if you don't mind us asking?

Congrats on the new job! I'm wondering if you applied as a lateral atty or as a 3L? I'm wondering how you had a 3rd round interview with Brooklyn in September when they were doing OCI interviews (1st rounds obviously) in that same month. Thanks for any info and congratulations again!

Thank you! Its fine i will try to give a little bit more of background information. I am an out of state 3rd year law student. I had my first round interview with Brooklyn in July at a job fair. Next I had another interview in September not sure if I should consider it a second or third round but it was an one on one interview with an executive. Then the second week of October I was noticed I was selected for a final interview. It took three weeks for me to receive a phone call to schedule my final interview which I had in early November.

Well, I had my 3rd interview at DANY. It went well, lots of questions about my resume and why I want to be in Manhattan. No word yet from Brooklyn.
Accepted an offer from DANY last week, took about three days from the third round to hear back.

Great stuff! Congratulations on the new job! Hopefully I get a response either way soon too. Seems like DANY is making good progress in making offers. I’ve heard of several people accepting offers from them in the last couple of weeks.

How'd your Miami go? I also was asked to interview with another FL SAO, Fort Myers, but skipped out on the interview cause flights were 500 rt and it just wasn't worth it. Not sure if you've heard from Brooklyn yet, but I had a friend who just went through the second round.

Can confirm that I also interviewed with the Bronx with Cohen and it was the most miserable half an hour of my life. I have never had an interviewer, or really anyone else, be as rude as she was.

Just as an update for anyone waiting to hear from Brooklyn as well - I was recently told that they expect to get back to people *starting* in February 2020. Kind of wild since I know a bunch of people (including myself) had second round in September/October, but I was also told it's rolling so maybe people will start hearing back sooner than that

Anybody receive a final interview from DANY? It’s been a month since my third round and haven’t heard anything besides the generic “pending status” email.

When I was interviewing with DANY in November, I did my third round interview on a Friday and heard by Tuesday about a final round interview that I went in for and accepted a job from on Thursday.

Did you have other pending offers and they expedited your offer?

I didn't have another offer in hand at the time, but I had been offered a third-round interview in the Bronx with the DA.

Anything from Suffolk/Nassau hiring process? Had 3rd rounds in October and I’m still “pending” for both. Nassau said they would be contacting me shortly back in December and nothing.

Does anyone know when Manhattan checks references? After second or third round?

They called my references after my first interview.

Same for me. About a month after my first interview my interviewer called my references himself, and two or three days after that I had the offer for a second interview. I don't know if that timeline is similar across the board, I spoke with my first interviewer afterwards and he said that he had been busy with prepping a couple of trials and had taken care of applicants who had early offers elsewhere before he got around to the other applicants, including myself.

My first round interviewer also called my references. One if my references told me he'd recieved a call from her the day after I did my interview, however I already had offers for a second round from two other offices going into the DANY interview and informed my interviewer of that.

I had my 2nd interview in Miami in person early January. I scheduled it late November. Travel was a pain. I live in the SE and drove 9 hours for it. Thankfully family came with and we made it into a weekend since you know it's Miami.

I met with a ASA who was wonderful, head of her unit. She asked more hypotheticals, explained a few things to me, and we asked a few questions back and forth.

Less than half an hour later, I was sent off and told to come back and meet with the SA herself in a few hours. I did and she was a fascinating lady. She informally offered me a position and I accepted. Just gave my written acceptance letter recently and have a start date for training come August. Just gotta pass/get accepted into the FL Bar by a certain date, a few other small contingencies, and I'll be working in Miami for the next 3 years!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
