Re: Did anyone apply to the SEC recently
Are rejections usually by phone or by email? I saw someone getting a rejection VM upthread which seems like a particularly painful way to let you know you've been dinged.

Re: Did anyone apply to the SEC recently
Has anyone heard about the recent posting in California? Posting closed three weeks ago and status just says “reviewing applications.” Not sure if they are moving slow or are already following up with people and I didn’t make the cut. Thanks.

Bump. Anyone apply to SEC Miami recently and get a second round interview? I had a first round interview a few weeks ago and have not heard anything yet. Hooping it is a holiday-related delay (Juneteenth, Fourth of July)

Are you referring to the job post way back in Dec of last year or did something more recent go up?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 2:28 pmBump, anyone applied this year for SEC NYC?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 10:44 amBump. Thank you for this. Two (2) vacancies lol; better than the one (1) in Washington, which went up a few days ago.

Thanks for the info. When did you get the email saying you were eligible for the position based on your self-rating of your qualifications?Anonymous User wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 6:33 pmRe: the SEC NY postings, I was contacted today by email to set up an interview in January.

This is the anon with the SEC interview. Sorry for the delay, just saw this question. I got the email saying I was eligible the same day I got the call about the interview.

Actually, anon correction. I got the email saying I was eligible a week after I got the call about the interview. Sorry about that

Just got a rejection from the NY Enf position, when is it appropriate to apply again? In 2-3 years, or sooner? I'm an 8th year out of law school with relevant experience in biglaw and then state govt work.

Re: Did anyone apply to the SEC recently
In my understanding government agencies like the SEC generally don’t mind if you reapply right away. In some ways it shows strong interest and is a plus. Anecdotally, I have heard of situations where someone who didn’t get hired in one round got hired for the next opening.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Feb 07, 2022 4:37 pmJust got a rejection from the NY Enf position, when is it appropriate to apply again? Re: Did anyone apply to the SEC recently
I agree. My experience is at another agency, but I believe this holds true for most, if not all, fed gov't positions. It's not weird or unusual to just keep applying until you get in.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 11:48 amIn my understanding government agencies like the SEC generally don’t mind if you reapply right away. I interviewed with DC ENF in mid-December and have not heard anything since (one way or the other). Should I take this as a rejection?

Re: Did anyone apply to the SEC recently
In my experience you will get a formal rejection email for a govt application, but after that much time I would also assume they have done another round or at least made some decisions about who they would want to move forward with and you would have heard from them if it was you. It’s possible they are still finalizing a hire and you won’t get a rejection until the person they are hiring has accepted. So, long way of saying yeah, I assume they are moving forward with someone else.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 3:13 pmI interviewed with DC ENF in mid-December and have not heard anything since (one way or the other). I'm still getting invitations to interview for certain offices/divisions, so this shouldn't be too concerning.Anonymous User wrote: ↑Thu Apr 21, 2022 2:50 pmSEC offers have been going out for the past two weeks.
Interviews are still rolling out.
Though I would like to know whether I've been passed over for ENF ....
