Was anyone referred and asked to submit a written statement?

Hi all - what would be the timeline between request for written statement and request for interview?
Second, what would be the interview process like during Covid-19? If anyone has experienced that.
Third, what are the typical questions asked in this type of interview? What can be done to prepare for it?
Thank you all. Stay Safe.

Written statements were due this Monday. I’m pretty sure it’s the same for everyone.

I submitted my written statement Monday night. Had to submit by 11:59 PM EST per the email instructions. Reviewed most of this forum, seems like interview requests are next in about 2-3 weeks time.

Last year it was about 3 weeks between submitting the writing sample and receiving invitation to interview, so with the holidays here I'd say dont sweat it if you havent heard back

No interview request here. Out of luck I guess. This would be my 7th rejection.

Fairly certain they are trolling... I don’t believe interview invites have been sent out yet.

Definitely not a troll. Just a lawyer trying to get a job. LOLAnonymous User wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 1:05 pmFairly certain they are trolling... I don’t believe interview invites have been sent out yet.

For those of you who recieved interview requests, would you mine sharing you law school and brief bio? Do you have trademark experience. For those of us who didn't get an interview, trying to see what we are missing.

Did my interview this morning with a panel of 6 managing attorneys for about 35 minutes. Each had asked me questions. Interviewers were all friendly and smiley. Was told that they're interviewing for the entire January and there'll be only one class that starts in April (as opposed to two classes in March and May, which was what they had originally planned for). Didn't ask how many people they are interviewing or how many they are planning on taking.
Don't think I have hope, but we'll see..... Good luck everyone!

Unfortunately, I wasn't chosen for an interview this time around. But out of curiosity, what questions were asked during the interview?

Re: Attorney Advisor (Trademark Examining Attorney) for USPTO
I just had my interview yesterday. Quick bio for the person who asked - Michigan Law, worked years between undergrad and law school in a pretty challenging legal position (writing, research, managing writers, etc), currently a second-year trademark associate in BigLaw.
The panel asked generic "behavioral" interview questions: tell me about yourself, what makes you think you'll excel in the position, what is the most important trait you bring, what kind of environment do you thrive in, how would you feel if you spent a lot of time on an office action and your mentor did his/her own research and disagreed? They also hammered the pay cut home pretty hard, which I understand. It was about 30 mins.
I know the class is expected to start in April, but any idea when we might hear back on offers? Do they check references before or after? I am also curious about the ability to go fully remote in the position. I know GS-11 it's a no-go, but is that possible for GS-12?

Michigan biglaw associate.. congrats, I'd be shocked if you didnt recieve an offer. Those usually go after after all interviews are complete, which I believd won't be until end of the month. References are called after you recieve your tentative offer. Pre-covid, full time remote was offered after you complete 2 years, but since you are starting remotely, who knows, maybe you are allowed to stay remote even when/if the office reopens. Good luck!

Happy Monday morning. Has anyone heard back about tentative offers? I think in my interview they said interviews were going to the end of the month so expecting to hear back in the next 2 weeks, but the wait is killing me.

Re: Attorney Advisor (Trademark Examining Attorney) for USPTO
I applied for the Law Clerk position and did a pathways internship with the PTO in 2019, was referred and submitted a written statement but havent heard anything since. Spoke to HR last week and was told that they started doing interviews 2 weeks ago but werent finished reaching out for interviews. I am wondering if they're focussing on the Attorney positions rn and then move to Law Clerks or should I just assume that I have been rejected.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
