STB (NY) v. Wilson Sonsini/Dechert (DC) Forum

Having some trouble deciding between Simpson Thacher in NYC (which is not where I want to be) or Dechert/Wilson Sonsini in DC (which is where I want to be). I don't have long-term big law aspirations but want to ensure I have a solid choice of exit options when the time comes. I don't have many people I can ask about which would be the better choice - an extremely well-respected firm in a city I'm not excited about, or solid firms in the DC market that are, admittedly, more like satellite offices as opposed to big DC presences. I'd appreciate any insight that others could provide.
