To 200k+ in 2021???

Post by Rookielawyer22 » Fri Mar 12, 2021 2:15 pm

I am in biglaw in Texas and it seems like every single firm is hiring mid-level corporate associates. Some with pretty sizable signing bonuses. I get the sense that this is the case across all markets. Do we think firms will raise salaries as a way to combat attrition this year?

Seems like firms can easily afford it based on last years financials that have started to trickle out.

What kind of signing bonuses are you seeing? I am a midlevel corporate associate at an Am law 100 and looking to move, but slightly worried about an economic downturn.

I think 50k pretty easily. Gibson, Sidley, Winston, Baker Botts, and Winston all have postings on their websites. Kirkland is definitely hiring even though it isn’t publicly posted.

Damn, $50k to sign and a covid bonus? That's 66% of my current salary.

Yup, they're throwing money at tons of people. M&A is wanted in all offices, but we don't do any VC/EG work. You can probably also slot into Tech & IP Transactions. There's also some other options if you're looking to switch areas (project finance, IFG reg, cap markets, etc.) PM me and we can run down what makes the most sense for you.
